Is it only the Northern states that have farmers? What happened to the Easterners and southerners? Because it is easy for them to loot funds sent to the north and nothing would be done about it but in other states, people would actually voice out and start protesting.

In this particular case, Southern States can't grow wheat cost effectively na. When they did for cassava last year,it favoured the South. While for ginger it was a cross section of Northern and Southern States.

I just wonder what the ministry of agriculture will be doing...when CBN is directly rolling out agric Intervention projects ....

On one hand one may begin to think meffy just wants to spend for them to tacitly gain their support ahead of his presidential ambition....let's see how that plays out sha...

on the other hand...one also fears that just like CBN dumped huge billions in developing rice planting and processing.... only for nigerians to now be buying local rice at multiple prices to former price of imported ones... This move may also result in unneeded hardship...if the govt should take the same step of forcing people to buy local varieties which may not perform better than those imported

Oga, government they disburse money to all farmers in every region.....but na some corrupt elements dey sit on it. Especially in the south......and again , most southern farmers are not aware of the government funds......

But it is a different story in the north. Most of their farmers benefit from the funds. I have visited some friend farms in Kwara and Kano. Those guys dey collect funds from FG.
