beebah83: Hello beenah Advanced Diploma IS NOT Post Graduate Diploma. It is below Post Graduate Diploma. Graduate Certificate is same as Post Graduate Certificate. You don't need a bachelor's degree for Advanced Diploma admission. The requirement for advanced Diploma is WAEC and or Ordinary Diploma. 2 Likes |

beebah83: Advance Diploma is different from Post Graduate Diploma while Post Graduate Diploma means Graduate Diploma/Certificate. Advance Diploma is an undergraduate credential that usually takes 2 years to complete after having completed a diploma, while Graduate Certificate/Diploma is a Graduate ( post graduate as we do call it in Africa) credential that takes 8 months (1 year) or more to complete. It mostly requires a degree or, ocassionally, an Advance Diploma as one of admission requirements. If you are from Nigeria and you have HND or Bachelor degree but you can't go for Master degree directly because you have below second class upper, Graduate Certificate is for you. If you have ND, but you don't delight in pursuing Bachelor degree, Advance Diploma is good for you. Meanwhile, if you'll love to study outside Canada, some universities and colleges in the US accept HND pass and Bachelor degree third class for Master degree directly. I hope this answers your questions 2 Likes |

seggzzy: Did you see my earlier response to this post? Of course, you did. I asked a question there, but you ignored. It's all good. |
Re: Canadian Student Visa Thread Part 21 by ShowYoung: 8:18am On Mar 28, 2022 |
seggzzy: Having experience in Electrical/Mechanical Engineering, I think GCert in Industrial Automation is good for you because: 1. GCert will show academic and career progression. 2. You can easily switch to Industrial Automation being an engineer if you can convince the visa officer and if there's undoubtable proofs that the job prospect is good. If you choose to study Computer Programming at diploma level, visa officer may have a concern that you have BEng already, why going for diploma now especially that your job duty is nothing related to Computer Programming or Software Engineering? Apart from that, there is a 10 year study gap, this can be supplemented by your job experience. Hence, it is natural that an Electrical Engineer may desire to switch career to Industrial Automation for the fact that it is reasonably feasible with good explanations to convince the visa officer |

Respect authorities and Honourable Gurus, Regards to Canadian student permit application: I'm a public servant, but I don't want to declare my job status since my proposed course is totally different from my current job. I used WAEC to secure an admission to study automotive technology (diploma program). I used an introduction/recommendation letter from my uncle's Auto parts and tyre venture to make up study gap and job experience. In the letter, I was addressed as a technical service trainee, and two of my uncles are my sponsors. Please, do you advice that; I use my salary account, or use another bank account statement, or just upload only my uncles' statements of account? NB: Two of my uncles are my sponsor. Please, deliberate over this case and air your opinion. Thanks in advance. |

adeyinkaadetunj: You have probably sent an email in the past requesting the status of your application. This is a generic response, but I think if they can respond to your email, something might be done about your application anytime soon. 1 Like |

Perhaps this information may be beneficial to some. For your medical screening, you will observe that spaces are getting filled up quite quickly nowadays to the extent that slots are no more available for April, the next slots available are from May 11 according to IOM and no available slot for April according to QLife as at yesterday. I wanted to apply for one of my clients. After emailing QLife, they responded to me that more slots would be opened for April today. After frequently checking since 12:00am midnight today even though all April slots have initially been taken up, they have finally opened some slots for April and are being taken up quickly. This means they are reallocating slots which have been taken up initially but are not going to be utilized. Act now before it's late. 3 Likes |

Please for proof of funds at the port of entry, is my tuition receipt enough? Or I still have to show proof of living expenses also? |
Re: Canadian Student Visa Thread Part 21 by ShowYoung: 10:21am On Mar 28, 2022 |
Semtu: If I were you, I would have every proof handy. School fee receipt, PTA, proof of funds for possible expenses, bank statement etc. |

1.) Be truthful, if you keep information to yourself and it's discovered it's misrepresentation and you get a 5 year ban. VO's aren't career counselors or anything like that. You just have to seem like a trustworthy applicant. 2.) You can actually change career paths. The Reasonableness rests solely on your SOP, you need to make clear explanations as to why. 3.) You can use all your bank account details, add everything that helps demonstrate your financial competence. Especially since you're using 3rd party sponsors. 4.) My advice: put in a clean application, It's easier for you and the officer that way. Less loopeholes will be seen and I'm sure if packaged right you'll get your visa. TanLiJun: 1 Like 1 Share |

BellefilleOma: Tuition fee payment depends on your school. If your tuition fee payment deadline hasn't come and no instruction from the school to pay, you don't have to pay it before traveling. What should be proved is to have proofs that funds are available to make payments for tuition and others as and when due. Personal Travel Allowance is a must. You can't travel to Canada carrying a paper proof showing some amount of money in papers without at least $1000 or more. You must hold some cash to cater for immediate expenses when you arrive. |
