I was 26 years old in 2008 when I was advised to use the fake name which is linked to my biometrics. However,I have since rectify the same issue which was also connected to my international passport, when applying for my international passport with my real names. I wish to be transparent and honest with truth when applying again. As it stands now, I am applying for a masters degree at the University of derby, a secondary school friend of mine is a professor in the institution and advised me to apply. mimilyrics: |

deuoessch: This post below may help. You don't need to worry about it if you are applying and decide to leave your passport with TLS/VAC rather than keeping your passport with you after biometrics. The process seems to be quicker when you submit it along with your application . https://www.nairaland.com/6969367/general-uk-visa-enquiries-part/40#111418998 |

ekpotek: Hello house. I've very similar timeline which may encourage someone applying for family visit visa: Biometrics 10/03/2022 Passport ready mail 25/03/2022 Passport collected 28/03/2022 Status: Standard Visa issued on 28/03/2022 - 10 years I feel very lucky & blessed but must not fail to mention that I've been bitten once by being denied in 2010 so this time around, I self uploaded almost every document under the sun that I felt would favour my application. Having a US born child may have helped me but I left nothing to chance: e. g. photos of her & self with sponsor, school letter of introduction & exam results - yes o, even for 5year old, all na 'tie.' *Try not to rush to submit, you can save & keep going back to your application until you're satisfied; you can also succeed without using any agent who may even complicate things for you. *under 'additional info', pls try to explain any large deposits into your bank account *even if you're being fully sponsored, try to have a reasonable amount in your own personal bank account to cover expenses *No tax clearance but I explained large deposits. *Finally, if you're sincerely visiting & not planning to 'disappear' once you land there, just be truthful in your application & prayerfully go for it no matter the length of visa. 4 Likes |

GraciousWords: Thanks. And I've already paid for that "Keep your passport" service. I hope they change their minds when I plead with them. |

GraciousWords: Am glad you are point the “Keep my passport” bit out to others. That option doesn’t seem like a good one if you live in Nigeria. If you live in the UK then absolutely because you might need your passport for HR, to travel etc, the fact that a lot of people get stuck with waiting for an email from TLS is disgraceful. |

It's a 50/50 chance or should I say 90/10 chance since you were fully aware and not underaged when it happened. You can try applying but there are no guarantees. cole82: |

House, I need guidance on how to apply for myself and two kids. I did three seperate applications for us and paid three seperate visiting visa fees. My challenge is with appointment booking. Do I need to book three diff appointments too and pay three seperate appointment fees..? I just don't know how to incorporate my kids applications into my own appointment. Please any guidance will be appreciated. |

A young man asked me to guide him on how his father can sponsor him to UK for vacation. The boy has less than 100k in his account but his father’s account is good. His dad lives in Belize. Note: His dad is going to UK for vacation in June. The dad doesn’t need visa because he has a dual citizenship (Nigeria & Belize). The boy wants to visit UK with his father but doesn’t know how to package this. The young man is 31 years old. Please I need suggestions from gurus in the house on how to package this visa application. His dad promised to send bank statement & paycheck whenever the boy is ready. Please what documents can one use for this application? |

mamawa123: At 31 years old, he clearly not a dependent. So he should rather develop a strong tie to Nigeria. With a bank account of N100K is not strong. His father sending documents etc to support his application will not help matters or will it convince the EO. 1 Like |
