You will be better off buying a standalone tbb inverter as the solar charging does not work if the inverter is switched off. The charging voltage is also not editable for the hybrid yet according to the seller, i.e if you are planning to use with a lithium battery

Will this do?

And risk getting prosecuted by the government for "creating a micro dam" and trying to create an easy life for himself and possibly open the eyes of other citizens. I don't think that option comes with the freedom associated with solar generation which has a much less, nearly negligible footprint on the environment.

If no be for God, the government would have legislated to have all solar enthusiasts prosecuted except they seek operating licences which has to be regularly renewed. Then you will see them create a task force that will be invading neighbourhoods to check roofs that have panels on them. They will count the numbers of panels and use that to calculate the rough estimate you will pay. Failure to pay, you risk getting your panels carted away, while the task force operatives will auction them to themselves at ridiculous prices or to other buyers while they keep the money/auction proceeds for themselves. Some may decide to start making illegal money from there as they offer you to pay an off the record stipend for them to "look away" so that you get to escape paying for an operating licence or its renewal. Boom, another illegal money making rachet is created. You will also start seeing a few neighbours who will start ratting out to the government those in their streets that are installing panels. I can just think of a dozen ugly, discouraging scenarios that can crop up from such legislation.l, as far as Nigeria is concerned.

And creating a mini dam is not as easy as it sounds. The finances, the environmental impact assessment of such structure and the resultant wàhálà from the government is not what one individual can bear, well except you are Dangote who is a government backed "businessman".
Yes there are some legal considerations required with regard to doing any power project depending on how many watt you intend to generate, But you see Solar na heaven sent, As long as solar goes cheaper it should become just as breathing air no amount of Govt manipulation can stop it, its a strong force backed by nature! The hope is that Solar becomes more affordable for all, im following some research procedures as regards better and cheaper battery Chemistry na matter of time before the Energy revolution take place!

please, like how many watt will a 1hp INVERTER AIR-CON draw from an inverter system and will it have any dangerous effect if the system is 12volts?
My FIRMAN 1.1 Horsepower Inverter Air-Con Consumes 600watts on the average using the GenLink power saving mode, but using the Turbo mode it consumes up to 1200watts, I would prefer to go with a 24v or 48v Solar system for best performance with regard to less worries about wiring and other issues

You need an EIA (environmental impact assessment) report to build a dam.
Ministry of Environment would shut it down.

There is this ongoing debate on twitter on most Nigerian's artisan love for lack of aesthetics/mediocrity. There was even a whole lecture by that late prof (Pius Adesanmi) that died in that ill-fated Boeing 737 Max crash in 2019.

Here a twitter link of the lecture: https://mobile.twitter.com/AdeolaFayehun/status/1105051630876016641

We don't bother much on aesthetics, you need to see the issue I once had with an artisan for not wrapping a cable back with the cable spiral wrap (attached below) that came with it. He said and I quote, "Will the lack of spiral wrap make the cable short circuit or not work?" Lol. He was willing to let it dangle anyhow as long as it works.

I actually believe that aesthetics is a thing of a gradual process. But it also requires an innovative mind that is willing to improve. I remember my first near-novice solar installation. I only wanted to get tit to work and then I was happy for a few weeks that I have a working system giving me ample freedom from gasoline generators.

A few weeks later and I begun getting impatient that I wanted more. And seeing some fine and aesthetic installs online, I begun to work towards ensuring mine also becomes "fine and attractive".

Most inventions start out as crude and rough assemblage that simply serve as prove of concept and prove that the ideas will work. Subsequent iterations and versions come out with improvements in performance and appearance.

Good Day Nairaland,

I am trying to go solar based on the current reality around the Diesel cost to run my shop. Please help with the calculation of what is required for the following equipment, these are 3phae equipment except the lighting and the fans.

1. Lighting - 800W (12hrs, more at night)
2. Fans - 500W (18hrs)
3. Chiller - 2000W (12hrs)
4. Mixer - 6500W (12hrs)
5. Divider - 2000W (12hrs)
6. Moulder - 2500W (12hrs)
7. Oven - 3500W (12hrs)
8. Slicer - 650W (12hrs)
9. Computers - 150W

Please, note that the 12hrs is estimated to be 6hrs - day and 6hrs Night time.
I do know the initial cost may be high but I might be able to get finance for it.

Is it a bakery?

Have you taken custody of your own Cells, now?

The purchased items have been cleared since Thursday and in Bestline Shipping Warehouse at Aspamda.
I know it takes time (I paid since December and l figured that it will take 3-4months, which was correct.
What l dont agree with is Suppliers or their Agents just behaving anyhow and slapping fees on a Buyer, just because they have your goods in their Custody.
Up till today, l am yet to receive the Cells l paid for, with $192 for Delivery, in Full.
The $192 was what she placed online on Alibaba, as Delivery charges, and l paid.
Only to get a Bill of #550,000 , to come and pick my Cells.
That was hwy l thought, maybe that Warehouse needs "inspection".
Even as l speak now, both the Supplier and the Shipper in whose custody the Cells are, have gone "silent and not responding" to my Chats, just because l asked them: What is the exchange rate for the Extra $99 you are requesting for, since you have provided a Naira account to pay into. No response, in the last 45mins or so. How should that be a problem for a Supplier/Shipper, to the owner of the goods?

It is just annoying when people "agree and seal a Sale", then the Seller comes back to ask for more money from the buyer. If you think there should be "variation" in a Contract, then you should alert the Customer from day 1, so his mind is prepared and it does not appear as if you are just trying to blackmail and extort the buyer

I think we will do an X-ray of this transaction, very soon, for the benefit of other unsuspecting Buyers.
A member here warned me about how much trust l am putting in Selina Li of Shenzen New Dery Energy Company, which is the Chinese Seller on Alibaba, from whom l bought the Cells but l just felt, well, she has not done anything for me to agree with that assessment, so l trusted her all along.

This is a terrible behaviour, which luckily, I haven't encountered.

I've bought more than 80 cells from Alibaba and I often use shipper that is totally not related to seller. All the seller does is ship to my shipper. That's all. Once goods arrives in Nigeria I pay the shipping fees. I don't allow sellers to get me shipper or even use those shippers at Alibaba. My method has more risk as there is no escrow, the shipper can decide to "chop" your goods. Lol. So far, the only negative behaviour is when one of the shipper took 7 months to deliver my goods. It was a very trying period as he held goods worth a lot of money for many months with him giving me one excuse after another. But he finally delivered on the 7th month.

Most of these "Chinese-Nigerian" often think money grows on trees here. One told me to pay $142 to ship a 1.2kg item. I wonder what they think we do in Nigeria...maybe mint dollars? grin tongue

My understanding is that, as a Seller, you will consider how much it takes to get your goods to the Buyer's location and charged "Delivery", based on that. if a Buyer is happy with the Delivery amount, he will buy your product and pay in full.
it is now your Obligation to now ensure the goods get to the buyer, after you have received that full payment (Goods and transport).

What l have never seen in my over 25yrs of buying things Online, is the Seller with-holding the Buyer's goods and telling the Buyer to either offer more Money or he (the seller_ will confiscate such Goods (obviously for re-sell at a higher price, due to inflation) and offer a Full Refund to the Buyer, without factoring-in LOSSES like Time Value of Money, inconvenience to the Buyer, Wait time, etc, which can also be monetised!
You are asking me to pay Extra $99 (after almost four Months since Full Payment (Goods and Delivery Cost), to pick up my items at your Shipping Agent's Lagos Warehouse, . Is that a favor to me or should l be jumping up at that and yet you are treating me as if l did not pay for what l ordered.
Even the Agent was so rude, he will just cut-off my conversation and say: "Go and meet your Seller, l dont have time"! Imagine!!
Am l supposed to be begging these people to collect my goods, something that , going by the terms of our "Trade Agreement terms", it should be dropped at my Door, which is what l agreed with Selina but now, she has changed everything and still threatening me!

Why cant we figure out a "sale's process", from beginning to the end, Cost it and then ensure we keep to our words, once we make a Sale on it?
Si this other people's experience?
Solar/Renewable Energy Family, please feel free to comment on this issue.
I am still in-shock.
This sort of extremely Poor Customer Service is what irks me a lot.

They have really poor customer service and obviously are not business savvy. To forestall this from happening, my shipper will tell you the cost of shipping when the goods arrive Naija. Which means they have the financial muscle to pay for the shipment themselves and only bills you when they've factored in all expenses incurred within that 4 month wait period.

This is not to say they'll slap you with outrageous bills, but rather the bills you get depends on how much expense they incurred in clearing the goods which, give or take, is fairly cheaper than most of their competitors. It's a crazy way of doing business, but so far it works for "em.

But if you agree on a particular price and pay it before they ship, they do not have any right to withold your goods. I'll recommend bringing legal action against them.

That is why most people when giving quote for a contract often slip in the time range clause that that quote is valid; you don't expect a quote done in 2020 to be the same in 2022.

The shipper should've factored in all "unforeseen" expenses on the onset before giving a quote. Now a good business man should incur this additional $99 cost and learn from it. So next time they know to give a quote that will stand the 120-day period between goods leaving China and arriving Nigeria.

Thanks baba. Figure for this will run to 100m or more and even no area for the panels.
Hence cutting down as the major loads won't run concurrently.
Settling for 10kW load running from 10am to 5pm.
Battery ,.,.,.....30KWh lithium
2pcs of 8kw Deye
20kW PV... This should hold.
Any further inputs

I don't think this will hold firmly Bro unless the load is not consistent but you can start with this and scale up later if required.

Good evening house,

Anybody with an idea of any device capable of converting split-phase 220VAC to normal single phase 220VAC source.

After installing a Felicity inverter, I discovered every other thing in the house is working fine, except the ATS (used, with a timer, to control freezer operation) . With NEPA, the ATS outputs fine, but with inverter output, it's "vibrating". Never experienced such issue with other inverters.
I was later made to understand that Felicity inverters have split phase output source, hence its not compatible with the ATS coil.

Anyone with idea of a device that can serve in between or with an alternative solution... Thanks.

You can also kindly reach me on 081-8-2625213 (Whatsapp)
