So you expect a good GK to carry a team with poor players ?

Put de gea or Mendy and might still not get past the group stage with poor players

I am not a fan of the npfl but you are capping big time here by expecting a gk to carry his team past the group stage of the caf champions league when the players are not that good
Then why did a better team not scout him?

Is their goalkeeper prowess a secret?

And now these same Foreign born ones, we don't have the best, why?

The best we've ever had was from the local league. You may be right about bias in a way, but somethings are simply facts. If we ignore, we'd always end up in error. My focus is the gk dept for now, not the whole team.
We just started having them recently. Okoye is the first German born keeper and he's showing promise.

Enyeama is the only reliable goalkeeper to come out of the NPFL. Should I list the numerous failures we've had from the league?

And it's usually the local coaches that failed us

And Eguavoen was the coach on the two occasions.

Ike Shorounmu, Austin Ejide, were from the NPFL

I am surprised Eguavoen has not resigned as coach of the team and Technical Director of the NFF.

What is he still waiting for?

Djamel Belmadi of Algeria and Carlos Quieroz of Egypt resigned immediately and didn't wait to be sacked.

Eguavoen's sit tight attitude is disgusting.

Cost of living in Nigeria cannot be compared to that of Algeria and Egypt.

Even buhari will never resign if Nigerians are reduced to just 10 by terrorists.

Our DNA lacks traits of resigning for whatever reason

Some of my guys hate Gernot Rohr with so much passion. I remember telling them to appreciate the fact that we at least weren't having any problems when it comes to qualifying for tournaments. They said 'Na qualification we go chop?, make he dey go jare'. I laughed and told them that they've forgotten so soon how sad we felt when we failed to qualify for tournaments.

Now they remember.
rohr would have qualified us for the world cup. Forget his boring tactics

I agree with the referee's part. I think if he had his way, he'll find a way to give us a win.
But Monster Machine was definitely our best player yesterday. I no know which big chance he miss o.
if osimen had replicated this performance in Kumasi instead falling all over the place looking for cheap penalties, we won't have been where we are today

Seems I am the only one not pained by this loss. Actually, I got distracted by the world cup playoff draw and I wanted the Eagles home early, as a wake-up call in order to give me a better outing in the double header against Ghana. I felt if we had stayed longer at the AFCON, the boys probably would have been complacent against Ghana. Now that they are hurt by this loss, they would wanna atone for it by qualifying for the world cup. I'm not perturbed.

How market?

what stupiid promise is okoye showing? nigeria does not have a good and reliable gk,all our goalkeepers including maduka okoye and uzoho are frauds and should never be called up to the national team again

Until we kill sentiments, emotion and favouritism,we ain't gonna move forward.

Ghana, Tunisia and Cameroon all sacked their coaches after AFCON but we retained a failure due to sentiment and politics.

I expect a lot of players to retire after this disappointment, especially the older ones

Older players

Balogun 34 ,I can manage him for next afcon before he goes finally
Ighalo 33 needs to go
Musa 30 ,not too old but needs to go
Shehu not too old but needs to go as he offers nothing
Akpeyi 36 needs to go even though he is better than those 2 frauds we parade

Maduka is still young and can improve with good GK coaches ,uzoho can also still be in the team but he needs to be playing regularly for his club to be invited ,they should scout GK from the npfl about 3 from there will give Maduka uzoho and any other European a run for their money

If Ekong cannot win back his shirt back at watford he should leave to where he will be playing because he is looking like he will be the new captain already

All the bench should be dismissed ,I don’t want to see amunike there also ,yobo should also leave that place abeg

Yesterday an OAP said Rohr is the worst coach we've ever had. He repeated this twice. This was after people called him to blame him and other journalists for how they put pressure on the NFF and the sports minister to sack Rohr few weeks to a major tournament.

They requested for a public apology to all Nigerians but he refused and remained adamant about how Rohr was the worst coach Nigeria has ever had.

All we need now is a top foreign coach but availability is the issue. I'm now at a stage where I'm not even sure if we're gonna qualify for the AFCON.

Rohr was massively declining. We were almost out of the world cup race sef on the last matchday if not for a ndidi block. Chances are that he wouldn't perform better than eguavon. Funny enough the double header was a typical rohr performance. Simon Moses attempting unsuccessful dribbles, the pass to osihmen and inshallah tactics. The whole thing felt like we just changed the individual but the tactics were still the same. No difference at all

Rohr would have used Ghana's game plan against them. Sit back and build from the back thereby distablizing them

take it from me, the goalkeepers are good, especially Okoye, what we need as regards goalminder, is a good goalkeeper trainer, Agu is not it
