but one thing I give him credit for, he knows how to get the best out of our strikers. Afcon 2019 qualifier and the tournament itself, Ighalo was the top scorer. Afcon 2022 qualifier Osimhen was the top scorer, also scored goals during the group stages of the WC qualifier but Eguavoen took over and our strikers suddenly forgot how to score goals, so bad that we were barely creating scoring chances.

I kind of understand why Rohr never thought of his team as having superstars and why he always sounded modest about them. As a matter of fact they are very much average, and we failed to wake up on this thought.

My dissatisfaction with Rohr was that he allowed his knowledge of the averageness of the team to simmer into his selections and overall cautious game plan. And and the latter point this didn't work especially with teams we should not be average against. CAR at home but he redeemed himself with a win on a neutral ground. Then seira Leone at home and away. Then CV. He was no longer playing like we were average , he was setting us up like we were coequal of below average teams

Like I always say,for a man with a loud mouth like AE, he has the ability of an amateur coach

One thing Otto Addo did well was to study our team and play the best tactics that would maximize Ghana’s chances of qualifying, even with a relatively poor squad. I’m sorry, but Eguavoen didn’t do that.

By the way, Rohr too was a poor coach. Eguavoen was worse but Rohr was still poor.

What we need is a tactician that understands the skill set of our players and can maximize them to the good of the team. A coach who can look at a game and do what needs to be done tactically to ensure we come out with the W.

Eguavoen’s biggest failure was overrating his team so much that he overlooked the finer tactical details that would have swung the game to our favor in favor of the big picture that “we are better than them”.

No need directing the words to me. I'm not responsible for the damage to the league. I have no business with the Nigerian league in any way.

I'm also not the one to invest in it. I have made posts back in time about what can be done to the league. But for now, picking players from the league is a huge no. It is still the same sentiment that brought Eguavoen, a coach averse to success into the helm of affairs.
