I've done couple of crazy things out of hunger.

Let me share some.

1, during my school days, there was a day I had nothing with me except 1milk cup of beans and some few drops of kerosene that can't last 10-15 minute.
I was damn hungry that day and knowing that the kerosene would not be enough to prepare the beans, a thought came to my mind to add water to the kerosene.
I did, but trust me shit didn't work, I just go rest somewhere.

There's nothing as bad as hunger. Hunger can make you relate with someone that on normal day like this, you won't even pick him or her as a choice.


Even though things are good with me today, but i still remember where I came from..very low background.

Hunger nearly finished me during my undergraduate days. For me not to die of hunger I started laughing with one Igbo guy that owned a provision shop in my street then, such that he started touching some sensitive parts in my body . With all these, I keep calm so to have what to eat.

That's the reason I took it upon myself to provide for people in my little way now, especially students, because I know what most students go through in the hand of hunger.

Very long story but I will take my time. Hunger is a demon. Hunger can make you do the unthinkable

Crazy friday like that i went to bed hungry with no hope of what to smag the next day.

next day came ie saturday. Done with sweeping and collecting snails(was collecting the snails for a senior citizen in the area) Around 12pm still no hope of what to eat and i have got some slimy animals staring at me lol

then i remembered a program i use to see either on natgeo or discoveryFam {cant remember}. How the dude will survive in the jungle eating warm and bs

then i thought to myself "manchie na snails be this just crack the shell and chew" {hunger na bastard} lol.. Thank God i gave it a second thought. Cant imagine how crazy and slimy it wil feel in my mouth


e second idea was to crack the shell and roast the snail.. I had no salt talkless of alum. So i felt roasting them was going to reduce the whole "draw draw" feelings {i swear i felt wrong}

cracked the snails, poured them out in a plate i had., first wash, second wash, 4th, 5th, 7th omo this wayray no stop to dey "draw" o {when no be artist} cheesy.. Maybe na better roasting to do am..

wahala no matches to lit the pieces of dry woods and leafs i gathered.. Had to ask the lady opposite the church selling pepper if she could borrow me her matches..

the good woman gave me and told me i could keep it,. Now another wahala is how to lit the leafs.. Time was already around 3pm.. Baba don dey loose stamina lol

almost all the paper for church baba don use just to start fire {god forgive me even some pages for hymn book follow for the campaign}


finally the fire started, placed a zinc that i have already drilled holes into with a nail on the fire


then dropped all the snails on the zinc.. Time was almost 5pm. Crazy waste of time, kept adding more woods, plastics, nylons and leafs to the fire because the water from the snails wont stop dripping

in total the snails where 9 and guess what i really roasted them or maybe i should say fire dried them..

got the 9 pieces into my makeshift plate., took out a broomstick gave it the shape of a skewer cheesy {talk about snail desert} cheesy

na so i finger the snails, drink better water like two gallons. Thank baba G for the meal of the day..
{man shall not live by bread alone}


and yeah even after the whole hellish roasting it stil felt like i was chewing okra and ewedu mixed together "draw draw"

Damn this brings back a memory. In school then , I unlocked my neighbor’s door with a knife and spoon (never knew that would work) to take 2cups of rice , palm oil, maggi and onions. God forgives me

I soak already made Eba till it turned to garri and I added sugar and groundnut

I attended Mayflower School Ikenne.
They had these palm kennel trees. When the Palm Kennel fruit fall. We will take stones/rocks to remove the shell and remove the nuts to eat .


God ..dark times.....

Hunger is a very good cook

I remembered this particular day hunger was flogging me with pònmó belt, a demon in me discovered that there were some "wild" chickens without a "shepherd", loitering around like a lost sheep...

omo, na so I start to dey sprinkle grains of rice on the floor on a straight line till the thing enter my room

Standing like a soldier on a parade ground waiting for orders, I stood behind my door wide open like the gates of hell waiting for my prey

To my utmost surprise, the chicken walked in majestically still picking the grains hungrily. That was when I realized, these animals are really dumb.

Anyways, I did justice to it with my last cube of maggi and salt...

May we not experience such hunger in this life again. Amen

Frying unripe bush banana with red oil to eat ...that year,men see shege, because of hunger it even tasted so good then....note I do get those wild bananas at the back of my lodge, that stuffed really helped my life that period

The day my food stuff finished while in school, I had no option than to lick the remaining MAGGI cubes, which was all I had left

Mine I will go to a provision shop close to my place and I will pick indomie and bread and I just acted like I forgot my wallet ,I will tell the woman am coming now to pay her, I go just take off till when I have money to pay her.
