A few days ago putin announced that Russia will only sell their gas in rubles, starting March 31, very smart move, it's stupid selling gas in a currency that you cant use, my excitement is that its going to majorly affect america, they need the dollar to maintain it's relevance globally or their economy will crumble, Russia's decision will change the game completely, unlike Gaddafi or Saddam, Putin has nuclear weapons

Evidence of it's effects are already obvious, weeks ago, 1 usd almost 140 ruble after sanctions, today its 1 usd = 96 ruble


Given that most European countries are dependent on Russian exports, they will have to void their own sanctions to prevent uprising in their countries, irony is that sanctions were placed on Russia to instigate uprisings

it's baffling that European policy makers didn't see this coming and even have the gall to talk about contract violations, deluded fools

Not just America, Germany is essentially crippled as they are heavily reliant on Russian gas.

Brother, trust me, they are not empty threats at all. Russia is responsible for greater than or circa 40% of the gas supply in Europe. Germany for e.g is virtually wholly dependent on Russian gas supply. They are all boxed into a corner. They either have to pay in Rubles or they will find a mediator nation to pay in dollars/euros and that nation in turn will still have to pay Russia in Rubles because logistically there is no other way and all of them know it. Putin then pegged the Ruble with a gram of Gold (which is a less volatile asset) so you either pay him in Rubles or you pay him in Gold. That is why the Ruble has been rebounding to its previous "pre-invasion" level.

You will have to delve into the history of the Petro dollar to understand why the dollar became the standard medium of exchange. Then you will have to understand the pacts and agreements that were signed between nations concerning earnings in petro dollar to know that what Biden did with freezing of Russian USD reserves was tantamount to theft.
