You can see the mind set of intelligent people, who have more information than you do, and can see into the future. If you were an African leader, you would have been so short sighted.

We shouldn't do anything because the west or the middle east said so, but we should do things on our rationale, weighing the economic effect on either side.

I don't think the EU and America would have issue some sanctions if their economic effect is highly disastrous to their nation, else they would have stop the nord stream 1 gas pipe, but they knew what they stand to lose.

The availability of alternatives is what prompted most of the sanctions on Russia, else most of the sanctions would still be pending by now. But this cannot be said of Africa whose revenue generation is mostly dependent on mono resources (worse still, primary product that we solely depend on for revenue), and many of these resources are products from the middle east.

Judging from where Africa is standing on history economically and development wise, they wouldn't want to fight another man's war any longer. So, I have nothing against those who abstained.
