olas24u:Okay, you see where the problem lies? Recently the minister for petroleum for state was askin the West to invest in gas exploration in Nigeria owing to this Ukrainian crisis.. Im sure you know that story. Now let's assume they invest their money, equipment and all you want 50 50 sharing or maybe they give you everything self which I know won't be used for anything good. The truth is even the 40% if at all thats what we get, is not being judiciously used by the leaders and that's why we are where we are today. The amount we spend on projects according to the rulers not leaders is always more than what we get. They loot. Ask yourself, if its easy to mobilize capital and run logistics why wait for foreign investors?? Now over the years, the most the west would do is to influence government of certain nations to protect their investments which Nigeria did also, not so sure but I think in Liberia we sent soldiers [Ecomog] cos of key Nigerians had investments there. (NOT SO SURE) Over to China, just few years in play, they want to or they already seized the only international Airport in Uganda. Russia forgave Algeria a certain debt so long as Algeria keeps buying their weapons. All its politics no free meals any where my dear. If you want the west to invest in your country, run expenses and all and give you 100 % my dear we shouldn't be having this conversation then. 2 Likes 1 Share |

toxtimmy: Why would they stop Bla Bla Bla from Africa's so-called leaders? Ok . If they don't accept the money, would you with your emotionless typing spirit benefit from it Oh! You think you're smarter than those you call African leaders For as long as your so-called leaders are in control of the resources in Nigeria and other African countries that aren't economically developed, then Nigeria and those countries will remain economically not developed whether or not the West accepts Bla Bla Bla! I won't say you're being smarter than those leaders because you're not focusing your hatred on the right side.... your so-called leaders. Even if you can't beat them ...,at least curse the day you met them! Unless you're one of them or working with them! |

dettolgel: And you say this because Nigeria has no international relations with Russia as a country? I mean, they could as well use that as a yardstick to call on African nations to support their stance on this entire impasse because according to your argument, African nations can as well run to them for business and other reasons in the distant future. Look, USA is simply being a bully because of the number one status it has inadvertently abrogated to herself. Otherwise, I see no reason why they'll be trying to arm-twist other sovereign nations to inherently follow whatever decisions they make against Russia, no matter how hasty and unreasonable. African Nations had better mind their businesses through this scuffle or you'll be here tomorrow when I'll draw your attention to the folly of any of our leaders' decisions to do otherwise. 1 Like |

Kimjongun: Where are the infrastructures of the China loans in Nigeria you hypocrites? You are building infrastructures for uneducated, hungry and angry people. Watch how they'll destroy it out of anger. The EU and the US have been giving loans and aids to Africa for decades, China came yesterday and started giving loans o and you fellas are talking trash. What you're saying is that you prefer a loan to an aid 1 Like |

timay1: This is not about our thoughts, this is about the facts/history. Great Britain, Germany and France were militarily and economically stronger than Russia at the time (16th-19th century). Actually, the Russians needed to form an alliance with Britain, Austria, and Prussia/Germany to prevent Napoleon of France from taking their land (Napoleon conquered Russia up to Moscow burning the city in the 19th century). When the Russians tried to colonize the city of Sagallo (present day Djibouti), it was only a 3 day warning that the French issued and some shelling that sent the Russians scurrying and scampering to safety. All the distant territories Russia tried to hold were either negotiated away from them or forcefully taken away from them. Proximity was also against the Russians in colonizing Africa. Russia rather resorted to land grabbing and annexing territories of weaker neighbors in creating an empire (they've been doing that anyways from forever), Russia's neighbors have never slept with both eyes closed. You can fact-check the above. |

GodSaklek: The figure you mentioned is wrong. 141 of the 193 member states of the UN, the vote became only a first in 40 years when the General Assembly has sat and passed a resolution to reprimand a member’s aggression. Seventeen African countries on Wednesday abstained from voting as the UN General Assembly overwhelmingly voted to condemn Russia’s invasion of Ukraine, signalling further international pressure on Moscow. |
