It is the way Nigeria was created. Consolidate all revenue sources to the center and strip everyone else off the power to control resources. It's the monster they made.

When your tribalistic ancestors were begging the military to create states based on their selfishness, I guess you hadn’t been born?

That makes no sense

Does it make sense to you when Zamfara people are allowed to sell their gold to FG and the Niger Deltans are considered thieves when they do so to their oil

https://businessday.ng/news/article/niger-delta-youths-give-fg-ultimatum-over-sale-of-zamfara-gold/

Does it make sense to you when states are not allowed to collect VAT and Personal Income Taxes (even when the law explicitly gives them the right to do so). This makes the state to place all manner of unreasonable taxes on businesses just because FG wants to share the money and keep a good chunk of it for federal budget?

Mumurist the oil & gas in the Niger Delta, isn’t it individual firms that do the exploration & extraction & sell it to NNPC, who in turn exports it?

But I know your level of oblivion, you are referring to your criminal illegal oil bunkers, just like the bandits dealing in gold in Zamfara & Osun State?

The nonsense economy they are running. Too much input with minimal output. Too many employees not justifying their salaries. Then you add ghost workers.

Salaries and pensions are only after what's left from looting through inflated contract costs and official jamborees.

Little wonder why some of the States are insolvent.

Make Dem con borrow money from lasgidi...
Instead of cutting their coat according to their size, and reducing cost of governance, they're still spending millions on nonsense instead of copying ghana wey don reduce govt officials salary to as much as 30 goddamn percent so as to cater for the governance! But you can see one governor borrowing money to pay and another one getting just 34 million as a result of the loans from his predecessors

States are supposed to be self funding. This is just an example of the ridiculous way Nigeria operates. All States should look inwards, a good starting point would be to cancel the jumbo pensions some States pay ex governors
