elyte89:I don't know what will happen again for them to accept that our players are not what people here think they are. We are no longer what we use to be . Most of our players now are average at best, except for very few like Ndidi and Osimhen . NFF need to take youth teams very serious again in order produce more quality players for selection into senior national team. 5 Likes |

Funny enough ghana's group looks good for them. With Portugal, Korea and a chance to get their revenge against Uruguay |

Odunayaw:As if Senegal does not have a good number of fb players in their team. It is sterile to see this defeat through the lens of ifs. E don happen, e don happen. Nigerians clamored for a midfield of Onyeka, Etebo and Aribo. AE played them. We clamored for Lookman and Denis, both of them played. We bewailed the absence of Osimhen during Afcon. Oya naw, Osimhen played in both legs of the WCQ Still we didn't qualify. So I will not give in to such postulations like if Rohr was in charge, if Okoye had kept, if we played home based, if if if. E don happen. Move on! 3 Likes |

Napoleon55:Let's face it. If Nigerians are the ones to complain about poor players then we have an extremely poor coaching setup. If we are waiting for Messi or Ronaldo to be in our squad before we can beat teams like Ghana and Tunisia, then something must be really wrong with us. For the last ten games Nigeria has played. I hardly saw a team with a better squad. I hardly saw a game we came in as underdogs. Even the commentators say it all the time that Nigeria's squad is magnificent on paper compared with the opponent. So why are you asking for better players again? We play poorly as a team. One of the issues I noticed in the Ghana double header was how we found it difficult to locate each other. That's why our players perform well at club level but are below par in the NT. Eiither we throw a through pass and it misses or we wait a long time before releasing the ball. These are indications that we're not organized. Credit to Ghana, but they were piss poor in the qualifiers. We were the ones who just handed the WC ticket to them. Otto addo's job was simply to organize the defense and wait for a lucky goal, because our build up is very poor, our teamwork is bad. So if you're waiting for a world class eleven just to beat Ghana or Cameroun or Tunisia. That will not come in long time. But we can reclaim our place in Africa by simply organizing our team. 5 Likes |

do4luv14:Crap talk. If we did not see Okoye keep for the SE then we would say he's a good player. Assess him by his performance in GWG. Is he a good goalkeeper? Granted Uzoho showed that he too is a big flop, that does not make Okoye better abeg. We played Okoye during Afcon, the first shot at him over 4 games, ended in the net. Yet Okoye is now the best thing since soccer came to Nigeria. Are you blinded by sentiments not to see a that we don't have goalkeepers? If you feel Okoye is a good goalkeeper for the SE as he is now, then be ready for many more occasions of pain and defeat. 5 Likes |

Barryseal:Thank you. Many don't like the SE. What they like are specific players. I praised Uzoho over Okoye after his performance in the first leg in Kumasi. But now that Uzoho flopped should I - just so I can spite Okoye supporters - continue to insist that he's a good hand for the SE? No. My loyalty is not to Uzoho but to the SE. Uzoho flopped. If I have my way both keepers would be flushed out 5 Likes |

andrewbaba44: It will be tight for Uruguay against Ghana because Uruguay isn't the same team of 12 years ago. Plus Ghana can play with the similar spirit they played against Nigeria to revenge their 2010 World Cup exit where Suarez handled the ball on the touch line |

Mujtahida:I'm going to fault what you're saying about Okoye making more mistakes in the future. He made decent saves against Tunisia both in the friendlies and in the AFCON after the awkward goal conceded. He also made saves against Algeria in the friendlies played. So it's not as if he's been all zero in the NT the way y'all like to drum around. Secondly he's been good at his club. It is an indication of future success with us as well. Uzoho on the other hand has been decent too. I remember his save against Tunisia in the AFCON qualifiers. I was very happy when he Akpeyi got yanked off for him in the third place playoffs. But unlike Okoye he's regressed and has lost his place in his club, he can't be number 1 for now. Bringing in a new keeper will be a foolish decision, unless they're playing at an equally decent level. If you go and start swapping keepers simply because you can't get over a mistake one of them made, you'll see worse mistakes. There's a reason coaches don't easily replace keepers. Football is tactics and not emotions. 1 Like |

M7even: If Ghana play the way they played against naija they won’t beat South Korea ,but you are already looking down at Uruguay ,Lol Same Uruguay that beat a star studded Portugal team at the last World Cup ? They aren’t the 3rd best South American team for no reason Ghana didn’t use any high spirit against naija ,naija was poor abeg |
Re: "The Super Eagles Thread: The Road To AFCON 2025 And 2026 World Cup by M7even(m): 6:48pm On Apr 01, 2022 |
Amedino99: It's not easy for Ghana. It's not a walk over for them oo. Don't get me wrong. What I'm saying is I just substitute Ghana for Nigeria and I know if Nigeria plays Korea and Uruguay it's an even contest. I know it's not empirical analysis but subjective. So since Nigeria can match those teams Ghana should be able to match them too |

JohnBullMySon:I am careful with words. I said Okoye as he is now. And besides I will even go ahead and tell you that even if Okoye becomes world number 1 goalie, he's likely (pay attention to this word) to still fumble in the GWG because his conditioning in the GWG is to respond with fear just like Akpeyi. Akpeyi will perform in the PSL and in the GWG he'd be shaking like a leaf. It's conditioning. It is said that if a rat scares a horse when he's two years old, he'd still be scared when he's 10 years old notwithstanding that that horse might be a battle hardened horse. |
