Amaechi was very vocal in his statement, yet no one has come out to dispute him.. what then should be believed?

Hmmm.... that is the question.
It was rejected then they all went home to sleep, leaving the door ajar.... for bugs and beasts....
Summary of a lazy, inept government.

They have started playing politics with a national tragedy. Was it a unilateral decision of Osinbajo or a unanimous decision of FEC?

Whatever the case maybe, Osinbajo asked the right question. If you are making quotation, naming the brand is not only necessary but compulsory, otherwise, you'll make quotation for quality brand but supply a low grade one.

The roforo fight should stop, neither of the duo is good for the country. They are both serial betrayals.

BAT2023

Brother Brand.

What's the train brand?

They played politics against national interest. No one is exempted.

I am not doubting that Ameachi made a request that was turned down. What I am doubting is this news report.

I know the minister and I know he is stubborn and forceful. Do you really think the VP alone is capable of stopping a contract that Ameachi really wanted? Ameachi that removed an NPA MD by going directly to the president, a woman who was an ally of El-Rufai?

So, the vice-president had no other place to hide than to ask: what brand? Now, ask yourself, of what relevance is that in the equation? None! The minister had brought many memos including the ones that approved the purchase of coaches and nobody asked for the brand. So, why ask for brand in this instance?

Your thought process is low, sorry to say. But that's the truth

A leaked memo the Punch said it obtained explained that the FEC rejected the request because of doubts over the financial and technical worthiness of the company Amaechi recommended for the contract.

According to the memo, Amaechi recommended Mogjan Nigeria Limited, a firm incorporated on August 6, 2019 by Prince Godwin Momoh, Chioma Momoh and George Momoh, with just a turnover of N84.9 million.

He reportedly stated that the Bureau of Public Procurement (BPP) had reviewed the process of procurement and given a certificate of no objection for the contract.

The memo further disclosed that the minister told the meeting which was presided over by Vice President Yemi Osinbajo that the contract would be funded from the N71.4.billion budget of the transportation ministry.

1. *Minutes of the FEC meeting indicated that other ministers at the session questioned the capacity of the firm to deliver the contract.*

2. *It was also observed that Amaechi failed to provide proper details on the capabilities of the equipment.*

3. *From the minutes, participants at the meeting also observed that there were no public records to show that the company had executed such a project in the past. It was also not certain that the firm was capable of executing the one being recommended by Amaechi.*

Why will he do that? He can't, that's why there is a minister who is saddled with the ministry's responsibility, award of contract included. VP asked him to give some details, the same Amaechi that hasn't missed any FEC physical meeting, why did he refuse to provide those details and present it again to the council?

You can see Tinubu Urchins have started the dance of shame by trying to smear the person of Osinbajo. How can you award a contract of 3.7 billion to a company formed two years earlier and with an annual turnover of 84 million. It was obvious that Amaechi wanted to cash out on the contract but trust Osinbajo, he is a sharp guy.

Hello Mr Man! Why drag Tinubu into all these? Oshinbajo can never come out to contest for presidency where Tinubu is contesting. They all saw what happened to those that betrayed Tinubu, they never end well. They always come back begging him for forgiveness. Whether IPOB likes it or not, Tinubu is the next president. We don’t even need any election today confirm that.

Apparently most of you guys don't know much about how these contracts thins work, the board of directors don't really matter, what I feel the VP, if truly he's concerned should have asked is about the technical partners of the company, that is the most important not the names on mere CAC forms. Or the turnover

AgreatMan:
Rubbish

Want to give a ₦4B contract to a mushroom company. A company that doesn't know jack about surveillance.

Reasons why you all need someone like Osinbajo.

It's even laughable to think a surveillance equipment or software can deter any bandit.

The other possibility is, did some people bombed d railway to create a "didn't I tell you" moment?
Re: 2023: Osinbajo, Not FEC, Stood Down Amaechi’s Security Memo - New Telegraph by murecool(m): 6:22am On Apr 02, 2022
Several Ministers rubbished the memo, and the VP asked him to.represent it according to the minutes of the meeting.

A lot of people can testify to this and since then, Amaechi refused to represent the memo.

Why has he not represented since then and now? Calculate the time difference.

It is also common knowledge that one of the owners of the company he recommended, Chioma Momoh is his girlfriend.

Some of those who spotted errors and raised questions the memo were the Chief of Staff and SGF. NO one single minister spoke in favour of the memo.

In fact, Amaechi has become sort of a laughing stock for often bringing questionable memos with dodgy owners and Co.

Amaechi has often become annoyed on how his colleague ministers often knock down some of his memos.

Osibanjo is very correct. How can you form a company less than 2 years, you want your country to dish out over 3 billions of naira?

You want to collect money for a device you cared not to know it's brand name.

Can you pay for electronics without name?

If it's your personal money, will you do that?

Re: 2023: Osinbajo, Not FEC, Stood Down Amaechi’s Security Memo - New Telegraph by profmnuhu(m): 6:45am On Apr 02, 2022
I believe the criticism will reduce now that it has been revealed that Osinbajo presided over the meeting where the railway security contract was rejected as Buhari was at the UN.

But then the VP had a good reason to reject it. The company had a turnover of 80m but wanted a contract of 3 Billion.

Also their proposal was vague and they could not show they did such before. Sometimes when you don't have the full story you judge people wrongly. Nigerians are not interested in the full story, we like to shout "bad leadership" up and down without context.

I am even sure Buhari would have approved based on his attitude of trusting too much. But Osinbajo was right. Things have to be done properly.

In leadership sometimes doing things properly will even cost some in lives, that is how terrible leadership is! You may mean well but your due process may lead to casualties. This is exactly why we must pray for our leaders rather than curse them.

We may raise questions as to if there was bidding. As to if this was the right company to push. As to the timing of getting something better. And this is what I advocate for. If we must criticize it should be specific so that next time it does not happen again. To lump everything under bad leadership and curse out whoever is President is unproductive and useless. ~Eseoghene Al-Faruq Ohwojeheri
