I think it will do Nigeria a great deal of good if some of us start behaving like humans and stop hating each other. This tribal war is getting out of hand and is no more funny. PressMyButton: |

Blackblackbeaut: Assuming the statement is not misinformation, was Amaechi able to answer the question? Brand is very important in some cases, particularly for surveillance equipment from an inexperienced company. Brand could be used for price check, for project capacity assessment, etc. Not being able to answer that simple question is a big red flag. You may say some questions are stupid simple, but if you cannot answer them then it speaks volumes about you! 7 Likes 1 Share |

teepain: God bless you. What you highlighted is the bane ofof Nigeria's development. We have seen the evolution of a get rich quick industry the politico-elite class have been using to enrich themselves for decades while regressing Nigeria with their incompetent, substandard and inadequate efforts. These People, with links to influential political powers, are unfairly favoured in place of competent companies with direct and pertinent history of achievements regarding solutions required. I would have thought no sensible Nigerian word make the comments you responded to considering the abysmal power supply the country is experiencing today given that poor electricity supply is partly due to crony capitalism and it's attendant incompetence. Direct blame goes to the GEJ government for awarding our DISCOs to unqualified bidders who have no core history in the sector they were bidding to operate in. Amaechi wanted to do the same. He is a lousy character now trying to play to the gallery after being shut down correctly for trying to exploit Nigeria as politicians have done for decades through their incompetent cronies they award important government contracts to. Nigerians deserve their suffering. Most are ethnically, religiously and sectionally biased. Their outlook is always affected by these biases . No surprise they will support something terrible from their kinsmen and put down something excellent from others not their ethnic, religious or sectional affiliate. 5 Likes 1 Share |

PressMyButton:Sometime be objective and stop talking trash, you can make your comments without name calling and tribal bashing. If you don't know how PHCN was privatised, you can google it and see those that purchase it if they are GEJ friends or not. For your information, the minister of power as of then, Prof. Barth Nnaji was forced to resigned because his own company bided for the projects. Back to to subject matter, even though the action of Osibanjo as a preciding officer of the FEC meeting may be connected to 2023 election, it's the right thing to do. How could any right thinking individual award a contract to a company of a family business that was registered barely 2 years with annual turn over less than 100m, a contract of such magnitude to be deliver within 6 months? That contract was presented by Ameachi to siphoned money, just as he did for mono rail in PH, If this saga is investigated deeply, don't be surprised, he is the owner of this opaque company, I may not be supervised as well if he is not the one that is behind this bandit incidence so that the contract would be approved for him. 3 Likes 1 Share |

AbujaCitiBlog:This is a very very lame attempt (by you and whoever conjured that dumb report in the OP) to implicate and pull down the VP. But instead, it actually paints PYO in very good light. It proves the VP isnt a dumb rubber stamp leader who just signs whatever is dropped on his desk without first scrutinising the content. You say the BPP approved the proposal and so what?.... Isnt it the same corrupt BPP that for years has approved all the inflated and fraudulent contract which have come to be bane of Nigeria? Yet you want the VP, a highly educated and intellectual icon to just sign off on it without questions? 5 Likes 1 Share |

But the sad part and why some cabinet members are angry, is that Osinbajo, who declined approval for the devices that would have saved the day, was the first to visit Kaduna to commiserate with families of the survivors and his foot soldiers have been everywhere lying to the observing publics. Typical of someone from west |

This kind of story is the reason why I hate being called a Nigerian. Obviously, if the devil himself (if there's one) comes down to Nigeria dressed in his "devilly" regalia, Nigerians will still hail him and follow him. See how people are trying to justify Amechi's attempt to defraud Nigeria while condemning PYO's action to reject the fraud. If Amechi is a serious human being, wouldn't he have called for another tender for bidding to select another company with track record, required turnover and compliant quotations? Someone submitted a quotation without a brand specification and PYO is being condemned for asking? Unbelievable!! Obviously, we need a mental cleanup. And we need it really fast!! 4 Likes 1 Share |

obailala: When I talk of Amaechi, I mean his efforts to get the FEC to approve massive contracts on behalf of a Company he could not meritoriously defend as experienced, capable and qualified enough to deliver as required. We should be long past the days when one man will just bring a company formed yesterday and demand they be cleared, without thorough vetting, for awards of large contracts. The sort that should be the preserves of established, experienced and proven operators. Nigeria would be much better today if we had not let greed destroy so much. Difficult to stop inflation of contract and such practices. Yet those would not be so bad if contracts are eventually awarded to competent players who will deliver as stipulated. Instead politicians want to inflate contract to then win again via awarding contracts to their cronies who will then do substandard, cheap and poor quality jobs so they can make more money. Crony capitalism and partiality is what has killed Nigeria. 5 Likes 1 Share |

Are people supporting Amaechi actually saying awarding the contract would have prevented the terrorist act? How came no one is blaming the DSS? Even if the contract was approved to an incompetent company, What makes you people think it would have been implemented by now? Someone was saying they didn't ask for brand of coaches, we're you there? Even the Lekki Toll Gate that's not in a remote area and it has surveillance and all, was any crime detected ? 3 Likes |

Yes the question asked by osibanjo was a very good question, how can you give a company who has never handled any security project, and total turnover of 84mil a 3. Billion contract, even 10percent of the contract amount is not even up to the turnover of the company. And comparing security equipment with train seats, I no understand every body knows that once you are dealing with electronic devices, medicine/drugs laboratory equipment you must state the brand of product you are supplying to enable price to be estimated and compared, so no brand of electronics then it should be approved so that the company can just go to China and get good for nothing equipments that would not even last six months. If the proposal was so great why didn’t he Amechi present it to President Buhari at the next FEC. 5 Likes 1 Share |

pasuma:Oga, recently, the US Defence Department advertised a defence contract that Microsoft and other tech companies submitted bids for. Microsoft won, even if I think it was later scrapped. There is no way Microsoft would have won that 10 billion dollars contract, if they were just a start-up. World over, a company's records are scrutinised to see if they are competent enough to handle particular contracts and no country does that better than the West. Yes, one must judge by antecedents. Antecedents is what shows competence and a company's ability to handle such contracts. Your mentality is why a lot of roads are usually awarded to companies that have no records of having constructed good roads before. Give them the contract and they end up with shoddily done jobs that don't last. Why do you think organisations ask for work experience for certain roles? 4 Likes 1 Share |

qekng40: Thank you so much. This report is more of a scam and far from the truth. The aim is just to tarnish the image of the Vice President. Amaechi has no details about the equipment to be installed. Why should the government release 3.7 Billion Naira for this when no details have been provided of the equipment? Also, claiming that it is a pilot programme and more like a test run before other railways are worked on is just sick. Risk 3.7 Billion for test run? When they can make reference to cities or areas outside the country where same equipment have been installed and find out how efficient it is before installing in Nigeria. Osibanjo is much more intelligent than Amaechi who is a blame shifter and always trying to appear as the Saint while others are evil. To have even audaciously made those statement to the press for a government you claim you are working for speaks of how terrible he can be if he becomes the president. The man, Amaechi should have asked himself why he thought of the equipment now when this railway would have had the equipment installed immediately after construction and before commissioning this. Does he want to say Nigeria was peaceful when the railway was constructed? This country just annoys one daily. 3 Likes 1 Share |

Using tragedy that happened under their watch to play 2023 politics while Mannabbq, Jamo and Helinues comes here to claim it was PDP that are targeting infrastructures, thia guys keeps making fool of them. Lets say Osibanjo vetoed the contract while Buhari was away, if the contract was really what it was why didn't Buhari veto Osibanjo on his return? After all, Buhari removed the DSS DG Osibanjo appointed while he was away or is the DSS DG post more important than the railway? Bunch of bastards |

Give reasons please without sentiments….we already know that he can read very well from a podium using a teleprinter, like Obama. Besides that, do we know how he can cope with governance in a political setting without a mentor guiding him? Shouldn’t we be looking for someone who has governed a State before with demonstrated political experience? Just wondering o! I’m afraid the North might just find it too easy to use Osinbajo to play ping pong! 1 Like |
