The DSS,Police and the Military conducts background check on all of them before they are approved. Some of them have also been dismissed too,while some are on trial.

They are doing excellently well. Being the stop gap between the police and the citizens. Despite being limited in arms, they are doing stuffs which the police might be afraid to do. In less than two years,the have lost about 13 of their Men while engaging criminals.

The Southwest Govornors who came together to create them deserves kudos. If the FG cannot empower the police the way they should,let the state take over. You cannot turn our region to mini Somalia

Sounds funny. Is this relegating NSCDC and NPF? Most of these Amotekun guys sre illiterates. I don't know how much of training they receive to use these equipments. Let them not just be driving around and be picking people indiscriminately.

I will love that they invest more in training the Amotekun officers and let their operations be top notch so people can trust them and criminals fear them enough.

Hunters are the ones killing Boko Haram and bandits in the North, in a nation where there is military and billions spent annually to fund them, they all ended up being useless. Vigilantes to the rescue.

You are right but the major focus is the mission to secure the environment.

I was at Bodija yesterday when those vans sped towards UI axis. The speed at which they drove explains how intoxicating and lawless they can and might be if they are not put on regularly watch. They practically rendered the road unsafe and unusable for other commuters.

If new and more vans could make them feel ruthless and lawless, what would more guns make them do?
