Thanks.
I have done that, they requested for the receipt and other things. I gave them 2 days ago, they did not respond maybe they are working on it.

On Friday March 11, 2022 I placed an order on jumia worth N598,557. This order was placed in the early hours of Friday before 7am. Unfortunately the confirmation mail I got was a cancellation of the order that payment was not received. I had actually made a transfer using my mobile banking app (access bank) to a wema bank account with account name quickteller business payment. This was the account that came up when I checked out on jumia to make payment.

I waited till 8am to call jumia and tell them what just happened. I also reached out to them through their twitter handles. They requested for the receipt of transfer which I provided. I was also told to go to my bank to verify if the transfer was successful. I quickly reached out to my account officer who ran a check on my account and confirmed that the transfer was successful. I told jumia the response from my account officer and they said they would relay the issue to their finance team for proper investigation.

On Tuesday March 15, 2022 I got a mail from them after investigations. I was told to return to my bank and lodge a complaint and as well fill a form for reversal. The resolution of the complaint from my bank after two days was that the transfer was successful. I was told to tell jumia that they should contact wema bank to verify the transfer.

The problem is that in all my conversations and series of calls with jumia they have vehemently dodged questions related to wema bank. A couple of their customer care agents I spoke with confirmed that the account belongs to them. Jumia haven't provided me with any evidence to show that they didn't receive the money. They haven't told me if they contacted wema bank or not. This all smells of foul play.

It's more than a week now and they are still with my money. I have shown them receipt, my statement of account up until Tuesday last week and also the image of what happened on checkout on their platform.

They have told me they will carry out another investigation. I have told them I need evidences and especially if they have contacted wema bank. I also told them that definitely I will not relent until I get my money back. I'm also considering legal action. Hopefully it doesn't get to that but I'm ready for anything.

Please I'm seeking for your thoughts and ideas on how to resolve this.
that's not jumia bank account

Interswitch told me that it's been worked on and that wema bank will reverse the money. So at the moment I'm waiting for a reversal from wema bank.

How fa? Any update.
I did as you said, bur Interswitch said the money is not with them since the account generated for me is a gtbank account. That I should contact my bank (gtbank).
So mail my bank, and they give me 5-7 business days, that they will make investigation and if found failed they will refund me. They supposed to get back to me yesterday but they did not, I have to call them and they said they have escalated the issue, i should wait for another 1-2 days.

Meanwhile jumia have collected 3 different bank account that they will make refund but to no avail.

The latest update this week is that interswitch told me the money has been reversed from wema bank. According to them the reversal happened on March 31. They also told me that there have been a correspondence with access bank on the issue and that access bank is working towards returning the money to my account.

From what I was told, it's the "settlement team" of access bank that handles cases like this. So far access bank has confirmed this but I don't know why it is taking them so long to return the money to my account.

Yesterday I called access bank and they told me they are still working on it. For how long?? I was even told to submit a proof of the transaction and I did that by submitting the receipt of transaction.

It's just tough and crazy the kind of things that happens in this country.

I will advise that you keep communicating with all the parties involved. Don't be silent. If you're, your money will just go like that. They don't even give you updates on the issue until you contact them. It's just so poor.

Your bank and the one interswitch generated for you are they the same?? (I.e gtb bank)

you are a big fool if you think they can't scam customer because they are big for nothing.

Are they bigger than any bank that steal customer's fund on a daily basis or they are bigger than any telecommunications company that scam customer every minute.
