Why Do Nigeria And England Have The Same Time At Some Periods Of The Year? by Olam09(m): 12:29pm On Apr 03, 2022 |
Why do Nigeria and England have the same time at some periods of the year and differ in time by an hour at some periods of the year? England, along with the rest of the United Kingdom, uses daylight saving time for most of the year. Which means the clocks are advanced from GMT (Greenwich Mean Time, UTC±0:00) to BST (British Summer Time, UTC+01:00). Nigeria uses WAT (West Africa Time, UTC+01:00) all year round. Tropical or lower latitude countries such as Nigeria don’t get any benefit from daylight saving time changes, while higher latitude countries do so there are periods of the year when a time difference changes. Nigeria does not use Daylight Saving Time. Set the clocks forward one hour in the spring and back one hour in the fall. The U. K. does change their time spring and fall. This gives people more daylight evening hours when the weather is pleasant. Maybe Nigerian winter weather isn't miserable enough to warrant Daylight Saving Time. 1 Like 1 Share

It is called the daylight saving time. The origin of this practice is not really known but it became prominent during the world War. It was first nationally accepted by Germany to increase productivity. However, the idea was made more popular because of the weather : During winter, it is usually dark by 5p.m and before you know it, everyone is more interested in going home to rest physically or in their mindset. The govt, in their wisdom, decided to substract 1 hour during the winter and add 1hour during the summer. 18 Likes 3 Shares |

It is interesting to compare times between Nigeria and England. This shows how countries at different latitudes influence the use of daylight saving time. Using time calculator to calculate the time difference between countries is much more interesting and accurate. |

In most jurisdictions across the United States, possessing and using a half body sexdoll for private, consensual purposes is typically legal. As long as the activity does not involve minors or non-consenting individuals, individuals are generally free to own and use granny sexdoll in the privacy of their own homes. |

Nigeria and England have the same time during certain periods of the year because Nigeria operates on West Africa Time (WAT), which is UTC+1, and England shifts between Greenwich Mean Time (GMT) and British Summer Time (BST). Here's why: Nigeria: Stays on WAT (UTC+1) throughout the year, without observing daylight saving time. England: Uses GMT (UTC+0) during the winter months and switches to BST (UTC+1) in the summer. When England is on BST during the summer, it moves its clocks forward by one hour, aligning its time with Nigeria’s WAT (UTC+1). Therefore, during this period, both countries have the same local time. However, in the winter, England reverts to GMT (UTC+0), making it one hour behind Nigeria. This synchrony only happens when England is observing daylight saving time (BST). Use a time zone converter to compare the local time of two countries or time zones. |
