Maintenance is really fair, you could wrongly judge the cost now cos of the hike everything but trust me. Honda Civic has been superb for me.
Again... car Maintenance depends on the user. Mine is still dope as foreign used. All I do is servicing mostly.

With Civic, you're guaranteed to get a tokunbo engine, but Corolla engine tokunbo are scarce, most of the engine's are either reworked or outrightly ringged

For cruise go for civic but for durability, parts and no disappointment go for Toyota.

Toyota for any reason will not fail you and it's fuel consumption is so cool

I will never agree that Civic is notorious for leg pull. If you talk about accord leg pull I will agree hundred percent. That you see a picture of a civic leg pull does not mean it is notorious for it. Have you not seen Toyota pull leg? Google it. Does it mean it is rampant? No. Infact how many civics have you seen with leg pull before compare to accord? My current car is a Civic and I know what I am saying

So does it mean Toyota doesn't pull leg? It does. The leg pulling is more rampant in accord. Civic will hardly pull just like Toyota. If this two pull legs, it means the driver is very carefree 99% of the time. Looking at the picture below, let us advice him not to buy corola too

2010 civic is much more fun to drive, feels faster, better fuel economy, beautiful interior and exterior, cheaper part and much more affordable(foreign used 2010 civic goes for from 2.5m to 3 million and 2011 corolla goes for from 3.5m to 4.2m)
Cons of civic are low ground clearance and small boot to carry a lot of things.

2011 corolla looks bland, I will go for the sports edition if I have to choose it.
It has a good resale value too.

Go for the Civic jejely... It has same or even better economy than the Corolla.. And its maintenance is also more pocket friendly than the Corolla.. It also doesn't have the leg pulling issues that plague earlier Hondas, because it has a totally different suspension system from those other Hondas..

And best of all, it's not a thief magnet like the Corolla

Honda Civic of that generation you're looking does not have leg issue. Do your research online and stop basing your preference on what people say (especially Nigerians). That Civic has same suspension system as a Toyota. I use the 2010 Civic currently.

I Have used Toyota Camry and corolla. But I think I'll prefer this Civic. Lovely interior, better handling and I think it has better fuel economy as well.

The leg pull issue occur on the older Accords, with a civic you should not fear about a leg pull talk less of a 2011 model.

Me am considering entering bolt this year and also considering car type to get, but based on all reviews here, I will go for civic 07-09 as my power go reach from 1.5m Naija used.

Go for atleast from 09 or better 2010.

The Civic is a nice ride, very economic just like the Corolla. Maintenance can be very affordable as well.

Corolla interior? Well, I don't fancy it either infact I still love the looks of 03 - 07 than the interior looks or direct 08 & above

Exterior looks, corolla looks more appealing to me than civic

In conclusion, I don't use either of both car cos am a fan of V6. I love quiet engine sound which V6 normally produce

Well, I'm only familiar with the lower half of Nigeria. Another question you should think about is: What region of Nigeria has the highest number of cars?... Northern (Upper Half) or Southern (Lower Half)?.
