This is really a funny one! Customers won’t support you guys, since we are looking for cheap rides and fares. You guys are on your own..

the increase can be done in 2 ways. It is either these platforms decrease their expected commission from 25%, or increase the fares by 5-10%….. The former is much more realistic

Uber riders went on strike too sometime ago in UK. It’s not exclusive to Nigerian e-hailing taxi’s. Try and appreciate that people turn away their eyes from crime and do dignified jobs and that the services rendered does not mean you shouldn’t demand for reviews when need be.

Customers won't support you guys on this...

Fare increase means customers would pay more... As if Bolt/Uber is not already expensive enough

But in all fairness, with increase in fuel prices fares should never remain the same...

Vehicle maintenance cost is steadily on the increase, with Engine oil , Transmission oil and brake fluid all becoming expensive... vulcaniser would charge you ₦500 for what should have been ₦200

This strike is funny. It's not like the drivers are employees, they willingly accepted terms and conditions for using an app, now they want to form a cult to force a platform they willingly agreed to work with to bend to their will.

Not saying Uber and bolt are saints, but if you feel dissatisfied simply leave na aaa. Instead of forcing everyone, lolz. By the time they start facing driver shortages they'll surely do something to woo them back.
People like you (and not Buhari or APC) are the problem with Nigeria. People are desperate does not mean they should be exploited! If what you just posted makes any iota of sense, then there will be absolutely no labour laws in or minimum wages in developed countries as every employer will treat and pay their employees anyhow and argue that anyone that doesn't like it should quit. I argued today with a Nigerian youth like you who was trying to defend Chinese and Indian factory owners who make poor, desperate and helpless employees to work 12 hrs for between #30000 - #50000 monthly. I ask you the same question I asked him; if we see nothing wrong with the status quo, how do we start insisting it should be corrected?

Uber/Bolt should cut their commission to 10 or 15% so the drivers can earn more.

Management cost and business running cost of bolt has also increased so I don't see them reducing their income revenue

What kind of coalition is this, if the business is not paying you, stop it and do something else. They gave you a platform and now you are saying the platform doesn’t pay you, then switch platform. So what happens if the platform doesn’t want your business anymore, are you going to sue them.

My thoughts exactly. If the app is not favourable for you, why not stay offline until the situation improves. You can still find passengers and charge them what is applicable to the realities. All this talk of Uber/Bolt drivers going on strike sounds awkward.
