Not beat but impound their cars, this is a movement for all so why can't they comply?
When the app company heed to their demands, they will enjoy it too so why can't they comply to the majority.

Impound their vehicles on what grounds? Many of the vehicles on Uber do not meet Uber's minimum standards and Uber looks away. Same with bolt. If you guys are asking for fare increase, they can agree to it and in response demand "strict compliance" with their minimum vehicle standards. For example a lot of the so-called ACs in those Corollas will never pass strict compliance inspection. Or is it the sounds heard from creaking CV joints, or the hard transitions when the gears are shifting? I understand that you guys are asking for and actually need a review in pricing. But ganging up to illegally impound people's vehicles will only get you guys in trouble. You most likely don't have the backing of the government and these multinational businesses have very smooth operators in government circles

Go and find work na. Go and start your own business. It is not by force to be an Uber or Bolt driver.
That's how one idiot carried me and started telling me I would add extra payment for him because of the increase in fuel price. This man drove me round the whole town cos he didn't know the routes and didn't use the map. At the end, a ride that I saw 1k turned to 3,700 and he was expecting me to pay. I was in so much rage. I later paid him 2,500 sha. If the work don tire you or you can't handle the rates, leave. Nobody forced you.

The good news is that not all the bolts/ Uber drivers will join the said strike. However, it is not by force to partner with them, i left the work because I don't enjoy doing it and the price fare isn't fair atall ..

I can't come and kill my self over bolt and Uber infact my car maintenance alone is another thing. Bolt and is principals are all cheat driver will work from morning till night without safety and yet prices of commodities have sky rocketed and yet bolt is still sleeping on it, I don't blame them either, they are customer and commission oriented. they don't give a hoot about the driver and Thier cars.

I left the job for good, I can't withstand a small girl insulting me within few minutes of driving are to her location. Damm

Like i'll go on strike on upwork and fiverr to force them to increase minimum price or reduce commision because things are expensive in my country.
.
Fellow freelancers will be forced to strike and if they dont we will check their phones and punish them.

You are not employees! Its called side hustle for a reason.

I actually feel sorry for people like you with your funny entitlement mentality grin. It is people like you that keep deceiving yourself into thinking you have some kind of right over something that is 100% not yours by any stretch of the imagination. Your type of people are too lazy to make the difficult but right decision of walking away and searching elsewhere, but instead you start dragging right over someone else's sweat and labour, or maybe you think people that own these companies just snapped their fingers and the company fell down from the sky and started operating.

To answer your question, what you see as wrong isn't seen that way by everyone, but you can do your part by walking away, if everyone does that what do you think will happen when there is hardly anyone to work for them?

Nature has a way of regulating stuff, there is the natural law of demand and supply and no one can do anything about it.
That people are desperate is no fault of the company and if there are more than enough people WILLING to work under certain conditions for reasons best known to them then its just the natural law of demand and supply taking its course. why do you think corporations source cheap labour from certain countries?

I am totally against any form of gang up to intimidate people that gave you a source of livelihood when you were jobless begging, applying and going through all sorts of scrutiny just to work for them. Now you are working and breathing small you are ganging because you want more. Simply walk away if you are not satisfied and go else where.
When I saw "entitlement mentality", the phrase which many ignorant Nairaland masochists use to justify their love for being oppressed, I decided to spare myself the trouble of reading your empty post. The right to protest and respect for the worker is part of the reason why many of you travel through the desert to Europe inspite of the many dangers linked to such a sojourn. Keep working hard to retain the 3rd world country status your country is ignobly know for.

Customers won't support you guys on this...

Fare increase means customers would pay more... As if Bolt/Uber is not already expensive enough

But in all fairness, with increase in fuel prices fares should never remain the same...

Vehicle maintenance cost is steadily on the increase, with Engine oil , Transmission oil and brake fluid all becoming expensive... vulcaniser would charge you ₦500 for what should have been ₦200

.
in all of this they hv mind to increase their own commission imagine that oooo.. leaving drivers to suffer

This strike is funny. It's not like the drivers are employees, they willingly accepted terms and conditions for using an app, now they want to form a cult to force a platform they willingly agreed to work with to bend to their will.

Not saying Uber and bolt are saints, but if you feel dissatisfied simply leave na aaa. Instead of forcing everyone, lolz. By the time they start facing driver shortages they'll surely do something to woo them back.

We already have a plan B that solve our equations, we have a new app that cover all for us in Abeokuta and Ibadan,
I will advise that we take a look at the new application that has been parading the country for quite some months now.
I will share the link to their website. Leeft.ca is their website. They are from Canada.
Down the app from /leeftdriver
I believe they have good plans for us as a driver
I was with the guys that plant this in Abeokuta, and the fare makes sense die

Cab Business is as Old as time, Bolt and Uber are just modified Agbero, their simple job is to use tech to link Drivers and Riders together, I don't understand what you mean, this is a parasitic relationship and not partnership as inscribed in the T&C signed

The Vehicle is ours, 100% maintenance is on the owner/driver of the Vehicle and most importantly, we absorb all the risks

Is this the definition of Partnership to you

I understand you're doing your Employees Bidding, but understand, it's our singular right to push them back to the drawing Board! Uber some years ago was very Arrogant, I want you to know they were humbled, and will soon be a thing of the past if they don't adjust! We are not forcing them! We want them to know that their days of using the "Divide and rule/donkey & carrot Approach" are over!

We won't use their App, we will continue earning on other Apps willing to actively partner with e-hailing drivers! Maintaining standard is not Cheap, so why the cheap fares! Are you aware the price for Corolla Engine is now 420k, that the moment you have issues, you are back to square one!!! This is a Breakdown for you so you understand this is a business and not charity! A trip from the Airport to Central business district is 4,100, you pay 200 toll, bolt or Uber takes 22.5% commission which is roughly around 902 naira, you pay FAAN 500 naira, then another 700 naira being cost of fuel, so from 4,100 your take home is 2,302 naira and you want us to maintain standard What's the Value of 2,302 naira! Please let's be serious

If you can't afford a certain life style, stay in your lane! But don't lecture people running a business on what or how to earn!

We can't endorse any App Company that's not willing to sign an MOU with us, that's the mistake we made with Bolt!

This is a partnership, if they want to run Employee Model like Uber and Bolt, then they should be willing to Pay Salaries, Pensions and other Allowances!

So let their rep get in touch with us using our Twitter Account @nacorpng! We schedule a meeting, have all necessary documentations signed (which will be made public for all drivers to see what it entails) then we will subscribe to their services

But if our Comrades in Abeokuta feels the need to give them a trial, no problem

Since their last review in 2019 till date prices of things have changed... except Uber n bolt pricing... Prices of car has changed ... Corolla moved from 1.8M to 3.5M ... Prices of engine oil from 4k to 10k

Price of brakes... Shocks etc... Fuel from ₦124 to ₦165... Prices of total car maintenance including the food we eat... Yet they increased commission but won't increase their fare... they should return it to 10% or increase fare by at least 50%.

Drivers get kidnapped and killed almost on a weekly basis because there’s zero verification of passengers ID but to be a driver on these platforms you must provide every single ID you have. From NIN to BVN, passport, etc.

You won’t with your “lol” because you’re a Nigerian. Nigerians in general are already accustomed to suffering and smiling. Are you better than bolt drivers in USA, South Africa or even UK that went on strike over the same issues? You see why this country will never progress? The reason is because people like you live in it. People who don’t know when to say e don do.

God bless you for this comment. A country filled with hypocrites, that’s why we are the poverty capital of the world. The citizens have been so bastardized they don’t have any form of self worth anymore. We need a mass re-education and mental evaluation in this country.

The guy gave you a simple solution, turn your bolt or Uber to normal taxi... staying with bolt is a choice, you are not forced, your union is not registered.

True. But basic econometrics will act on it. “The higher the price, the lower the quantity demanded”. These companies know this. You’re the one not informed!
