@Uzland, actually Care Assistant and co are under Health and Care worker.

See attached screenshot and link
https://www.gov.uk/health-care-worker-visa/your-job

Hello Beautyfoch, you didn't understand my explanations. Please note that Care worker/Home Care assistant etc with ONS code 6145 is eligible for both Health and Care Worker visa (HACW visa) and Skilled Worker visa (SW visa). However, 6145 (and even 6146) is not a shortage occupation under Health and Care Worker visa, but it is a shortage occupation only under Skilled Worker visa. Many people don't take notice of this important difference in classification, yet there are implications to it.

On the other hand, Healthcare assistant/Nursing auxiliary etc with ONS code 6141 is a shortage occupation under Health and Care Worker visa.

Attached here are screenshots of the lists of shortage occupations for each of the two visa categories from the gov.uk links below.

Doesn't matter when you did it, as long as it a UK degree, it is accepted as proof of English.

Hello everyone.

I have seen some responses to my question below in the thread, however I haven't seen any response that goes into details.

My question is:
For someone with a UK MSc from years back, returned to Nigeria after studies and currently applying on the Health Care Worker Visa route as a Care Assistant, is the UK MSc Certificate sufficient to prove English competence?

I have seen a lot of "yes" responses to the question on the thread, however, please does anyone know anyone who has successfully applied from Nigeria for the Health Care Worker visa using just their UK MSc certificate, without needing NARIC/ECCTIS or IELTS?

I will appreciate a detailed response to this please.
Wouldn't want to spend all that money getting NARIC/ECCTIS evaluation, only to find out I could have done without it.

Thank you.

In brief, you will pay surcharge if you clinch a Home Care Assistant or Care Worker job. Shikena.

Note...Care Worker sounds like Support Worker abi? But they are not the same. Just like Home Care Assistant sounds like Healthcare Assistant...but also not the same.

Guys please, this TB test and police clearance sheybi it's meant for visa?

I got a mail from one organization telling me to submit all this before they can proceed, who else has gotten such mails without offer letter or cos ?

All these people are getting weirder and weirder, but my dear, if they are assuring you of the position and not just to go through the rigours of competing against other people at an interview, try and do it. If you still have spare cash and can risk having an expired TB and police certs, still do. Because you are in the life with us and seeing how getting an ordinary interview has turned to applying for resident permit now ...just try. I would have done all sef, if I were in that Lagos....and nobody is even asking me to do them...yet.

I just read an article from care UK that most carehome are working together to see that Ukrainian refugees are employed in the care sector. I'm believing this because this whole care assistant rush is becoming more silent by the day. Now they hardly reply messages. But in all we give God praise

I think Care Assistant/Support worker is a band 2 job and most employers are not ready to sponsor people from abroad for that role . Only few of them are willing to take foreign workers for that role reason why they're making things tough to fit at least band 3 compliance .

As innn..the silence is loudd. I've always known that the Ukrainians would complicate things, but not to this extent. It's not like they can do the work with sign language sef, because the average Ukrainian is not a good speaker of English. Las las, we will only try and not kii ourselves. Besides, there's the skilled worker route, which most Nigerians don't take advantage of and understably so, because their requirements sometimes, can make you start wondering what is bad really, about the Nigeria that is inspiring the japaa

Goodday everyone. Please someone help me out, for the health and care worker visa, has anyone applied for it and got his/her visa without submitting any sch documents like degree or waec? Since they don't make it mandatory, I have a HND in a Science course and I am using 2 waecs, I dont want to complicate issues and I don't want to look under-qualified. I don't plan to attach any of them or I will just attach the HND and leave OND and waec. Please has someone gotten through without submitting these sch certificates for the visa? Please help

The documents required for Visa application is at UKGOV. At no point is WAEC or HND Certificate required for HCA Visa application.

You can still liaise with tomatosauce1 for more information. She just got her visa

You cannot be rejected if you follow the guidelines. The guidelines says a UK degree holder doesn't need any other proof of English......
