lilangel20: The 5,030 cad fees might be for a semester only. So for two semesters in an academic year, you're looking at 10,060 cad/year for tuition. And if medical insurance is not covered in this figure (5,030), you're looking at about 1500 cad in addition for one year. So taking these into consideration your fees may actually amount to 11,560 cad per year. If you now deduct this amount from your research assistantship allowance you have only 4,940 cad left for accommodation and other miscellaneous. This is way below the 10,000 cad living expense required. So I'll suggest that you clarify from your supervisor whether or not the 5,030 fees is for a semester or an entire year. If it is not, then you'll have to find a way to build your finance to be able to meet the minimum living expense required. Use a table in your sop to show the breakdown of funds available to you from the school and any other source and do all the necessary expenditure estimates. Best wishes. 1 Like 1 Share |

Uzoamaka123: Sorry to hear about MUN. I got my admission letter from Dalhousie last month. What is your app status on the portal? What prog? Also if it is thesis option /grad program, it would take longer time to hear back from what I gather.. I don't think it would be out of place to mail them to enquire. Keep the faith, you still have 2 options ...I hope it works out for you. |

Hello all, While applying for the study permit on the new application portal, please, is it advisable to add the visit visa of the accompanying spouse and child? Your suggestions will be appreciated. Thank you. |

How screwed up am I? I am an Oct applicant. Few weeks ago I got a document request mail for my new passport data page as the passport I used will be expiring in August 2022. I had gone to renew my passport since Feb but yet no hope as everyone is saying there isn't any booklet. I was given until 13th of April to send the data page or write back. Apparently I am going to write back. But I am just worried, will this become a problem for me or should I keep the hope alive. I am greatly disturbed. |
Re: Canadian Student Visa Thread Part 21 by Ketima: 7:11am On Apr 07, 2022 |
Kidsister13: Hello Kidsister, Your application is on the verge of approval and as such, since your passport is expiring soon, they needed new one with extended date for recording purposes before they send PPR. Now, with your passport expiring in August, what intake are you going for? If may, just know it that your passport won't be stamped beyond august. If fall term, your PP can still be stamped but you must travel before the counterfoil expires. Now when you get over there, you do renewal. So you can write LOE to them that you have initiated the process of securing new passport but due to non availability of booklet, you haven't gotten new one yet. If possible, attach proof that you indeed initiated the process. But I don't see any reason to worry. At most the validity of your counterfoil will be August 2022. All the best 3 Likes |

Good morning house. Please I need advice. I am going to be funded 21,000 cad but my tuition+10k cad living expenses= 26,000 cad/year. 1. I don't have money and neither does my dad, I plan on having my uncle send him 3 million to complete the balance of the living expenses and he sends me a gift deed to explain the lump sum in my bank statement. But I don't show his own bank statement so they don't see he got a lumpsum himself. Would this be a problem or should I just have my uncle send to me and show his account statement and mine. 2. Since most of the money is from funding, would I still need to declare I'm being sponsored or say I'm self sponsored while my dad or uncle just gave that extra money to help. Please any help would be greatly appreciated @ketima @frankrobbn @makano @technix and anyone else who has an input |

Don't agree on paying 35k. Report them on Twitter and copy the Minister of Interior. I paid just 55k for my renewal and new passports for my wife and two children: this is four applicants. Everything cost 55k. I did it myself online and went on the date scheduled for capturing. They weren't friendly with us at all. We managed to be humble for them to capture our details. Each month, they'll tell us stories that there weren't booklets: as I sensed that we may never get the passports until a year, I swung into action. I tweeted publicly on their handle and copied the Minister of Interior, Rauf Aregbesola, the Comptroller General, Babandede and, I think, some more people in power. The same day, they got in contact with me soliciting I visit them the next day. Lo and behold, we collected our four passports with preferential treatment the next day. They put us in an air conditioned room meant for VIPs. They started begging me to comment back on Twitter that they have done well. Meanwhile, I didn't go with my children because I didn't want to put them through the suffering the officers put us through on the day of capturing. They said they'll not release my children passports because the children weren't there physically. I claimed I signed on their behalfs, and I emphasized I would not collect any passport unless I am given the whole four passports. I said I would not leave unless I have the four passports. They started running helter-skelter, in the end, they called the State Comptroller on the phone and she spoke with me begging me to go and bring the children. I said "no". In the end, they gave me all the four passports and apologized. I did similarly during renewal of my driver's license, I paid around 6k. They wanted me to pay around 18k. I insisted I would only pay 6k. I did it myself online. They sensed I was a troublesome person, they had to let me go with little delay. Meanwhile, I never made that place comfortable for them, whenever they wanted to attend to anyone that came after me, I would complain and block the way. I claimed I was also a Nigerian and they should attend to me. By the time I disturbed about two to three persons, they had to give me what I wanted. Kidsister13: 11 Likes |

VonVictor: The best option is to let your uncle send to your Dad, and your Dad send to you and do a gift deed. With a gift deed from your Dad you don't need to show his or your uncle's bank statement. Just your own bank statement with a gift deed from your Dad is enough. Now, in your SOP under POF section, explain in a tabular form the total cost of your study and living expenses, remove the fund you got and state that it'll remain so so amount. Show that the remaining amount + miscellaneous is in your bank statement. Tips - Don't just write it as a sentence, do it in a tabular form so that the officer will be able to see and caught his attention (it's very important) - make sure the money that'll be in your account as gift deed, covers at least the 5k cad left + 3k extra All the best 4 Likes |

It is not for 1 semester, it is for a year. I got a tutitin waiver in which I am supposed to pay as a Quebec student and medical insurance is covered there too Thank you so much. I would surely use a table Mkaygh99: |

ShowYoung: I didn't pay 35k for the express service o...for everything. Like 25k was the passport fee and 10k to give me that same day... which honestly compared to everyother option was mind-blowing. Lovely service. Everyone running around to make sure you're comfortable. Couldn't believe I was in Nigeria 1 Like |

Goodevening house, I applied on the 28th of November, my medicals was updated to pass on 22nd December and up till now, no response, eligibility has not even started. Why this delay nah, I am just worried. Why the delay in starting my eligibility nah? I have sent several emails and webforms, the last one I sent, the replied that my application is on que for processing. |
Re: Canadian Student Visa Thread Part 21 by Ketima: 9:17am On Apr 07, 2022 |
Chukwuemekatehi: Hello Chukwuemeka, Note that the start of eligibility doesn't mean that your application will soon be concluded. Some have their eligibility start immediately or a few weeks after applying but will see their eligibility last for more than 3 months before a decision is made. While others will not see their eligibility start until after 3 months of submission only for their eligibility to start and a decision will be made the next day or even some mins after eligibility started. So don't be bothered that others who you applied before them or with you have had their eligibilities start but yours isn't. Because it may look like your application is idle, but background eligibility may be going on. So relax ok |
