It’s now they are responding to all emails/webform telling me they’ve made decision and I should check correspondence sent on 29-03-2022.

They are the ones bombarding me with response now grin grin grin

LONG POST ALERT!

As a young guy growing up, the Nigerian dream in my Family then was to Japa. Those were the days of US Visa lottery. The moment I turned 18, my brothers initiated me into the Japa mind set. All my working years after graduation were used to chase Japa until 2014 when Canada's refusal then became the last straw that broke the Camel's back.

2014 wasn't a great year for me. I received several Ls and breakfast from different directions. A week before Canada served me breakfast, my girlfriend of 3 years dumped me because I really didn't look like someone who wants to settle down. All I was chasing was Japa. Then I lost my Job, lost a substantial amount of money to an investment, and then a subcontractor ran away with a large sum of money for a project I was handling. By the time it was middle of 2014, I didn't have the energy to reapply for Visa again.

I told my Brothers that I was not doing again. So I got another job. A great job. Got married, had a daughter and started building my life here in Naija with no penchant for Japa again. Then last year, my wife started pushing me to try again. I reluctantly agreed. I was in a better life status now. So I applied and here we are!

Below is my profile and the document submitted for my application.

- Pay slip
- Work ID

6. Client information
- Letter of explanation (6 pages)
- CV

- Home tie documents

- NYSC Cert
- IELTS Cert - I added this since I have it and especially since I answered Yes to the question of whether I did an English Language test in the Study permit form
- Other Certs that showed interest in Project Management

- Police Character Certificate

I pray that the Lord will answer all the prayers of everyone waiting for their PPR and for those delayed, don't give up. It will end in praise in Jesus name.

Finally, Do IT Yourself. I did it all by myself in 2014, got denied. I did it by myself in 2022, got approved. Do IT Yourself. Just read wide. Read this thread and Read the IRCC website. Between this thread and the IRCC website, you have all the information you need for a successful application.

Facts about my SOP (7 pages)
• I called it Letter of Explanation (That is what I saw on the IRCC portal).
• It was written by me within 3 weeks, with the help of the Almighty God. Contributions were made by my husband, 2 student already in Canada, I also got a contact from Nairaland, already in canada whom I sent it to for review and he shared an SOP (an extract) with me. I added somethings from the extract to my SOP.
• I used this format: Introduction, Academic background and Work Experience (BSc. Biochemistry; completed 2008, MBA; completed November, 2021 and 10years work experience), Why I decided to study the course, Career aspiration and Volunteering experience (I added my volunteer experience because I read that it is appreciated), why school of choice, Why Canada, Proof of Means of Financial support (I created 2 tables, one showed expense and the second table showed amount available; Rella; OJC group also affirm this format when I shared with her). I had 2 lump sums: 7.5M from my co-operative savings which was transferred to my account on 04.01.2022 and my husband transferred 5M to me; a day before I submitted my application (I contacted @TheGabby; OJC group who advised that my husband should transfer it and not leave it in his account)
• Home ties: Family ties and Economic ties - My husband and Children, my professional membership and responsibility, aged parent (my mum will take care of the children to enable me focus on my studies and not be distracted), prospect of the course I’m going for and increased earning power when I return, Impact on Africa Continental free Trade Area (AfCFTA).

Stages of Anxiety
• Medical Update: Feb 3rd IOM, but was not updated until Feb 23rd. This took long compared to the timelines I’ve being seeing (I did not receive mail from IOM after medical, so I contacted them and they sent my result and informed me that it has been forwarded to IRCC).
N.B: NO Webform was sent until it was updated.
• Passport sent to Abuja: When my passport was delivered by DHL to VFS for stamping on the 28th March, 2022, there was no acknowledgement email, I had to mail them before they sent my tracking number (4 mails was then received within few minutes intervals). Whenever I track it on the VFS site, the same message (application is under process at the IRCC office) is what was displayed for 4days. On the 4th day (31st March, 2022), I sent a mail to VFS Abuja to let me know the true status of the passport sent to them for stamping. Few minutes later, I received a mail from them stating that decision envelope has been dispatched (different message from what is shown when I track it on VFS Portal). About 3 hours later, I received 2 emails that the decision envelope has been received from VFS, Abuja at CVAC, Abuja and has been collected from CVAC, Abuja. (I checked my IRCC portal and Counterfoil just updated; No email received from CIC)
• Passport picked by DHL from VFS Abuja on the same day; 31st March, 2022

How I coped with the anxiety
• I prayed to God (I’m a Christian)
• I surf nairaland for any info, a lot of screenshots to read over and over again
• OJC group chats

Note: I decided to do it myself because of the experience I had with a college admission gotten through a popular person/company on Instagram offering a free admission processing (but high exchange rate for application fee). When I got access to the application, he used an unknown person as my next of kin and included unknown number as my next of kin contact. I changed it on the portal and when I complained, he said it doesn’t matter. I was shocked and right there, I made up my mind to secure another admission (University) and apply for the student visa myself which I did with the help of the Almighty God.

It has indeed ended in praises.

To all PPR hopefuls, I wish you all the best and to those keeping all the do-it-yourself platform active, thank you so much.

Mehn, I salute your artistic, skillful and well explanatory write up, Congratulations ma, Please how were you able to upload all these documents? did you upload them one after another ? did you combine them together as a single file and upload everything at a go? Please i need you kind response ma, I am preparing for September and i want to start making all necessary arrangement for the online application. i dont know to go about it please ma.

Due to VO's discretion, I will advise he writes a letter to state his financial support for your study and stay (especially if his money is more substantial). He may as well use the letter to further emphasize why he wants to travel with you, talk about his employment, personal home ties, etc.

If I want to go with my spouse and 2months old baby, does he need to write a letter of sponsorship for me? Cos I would be adding his account statement as well

Yes, it can, especially if she overstayed in US, UK, Australia or New Zealand.

Still, if she can get an immigration lawyer to put forth cogent excuse, that may help.

Lezy:
Hello, please advise, it's urgent for my friend, she overstayed in one country and was banned, would this affect her study visa application to Canada?

I have found a room to rent VERY CLOSE to Centennial college for CAD$800/month. The owner is open to me sharing the rent with a room mate. Please comment here is you’re a female needing a roommate to cut costs for the first few months until you get well settled in at least. That will be just CAD$400/month and such offerings are not lying around everyday in Canada. The house is close to the bus stop and a walking distance to stores where you can get anything/everything. Nearly zero transportation cost! Good for students in U of T, Seneca College, Centennial College, progress campus students

Thanks everyone!

Congratulations senior colleague. May Canada favour you.

Why are some people seeing “eligibility in progress “and others seeing “we are reviewing your eligibility “?

It is looking like no eligibility no PPR .please what did they do differently ?
Is Nse working or what exactly is making some faster ?

Good day all.

Please the attached information has been on my profile since I did my Biometrics capturing. However, my profile still indicates "your action is required".

What am I expected to do?
Is there any other information VFS should have provided to IRCC that is yet to be provided?

Kindly help attend to the above.

Thank you.

I can see that your biometric number has been captured on your profile that means your biometric data has been successfully recieved by IRCC. The remark "your action is required" should be a system glitch, it would eventually change back to "submitted" Dont panic, i cant see any cause for alarm.

Give it another one week and you can send the screen shot via webform if it still persist but its no issue.

All the best!
