MOSCOW, April 8. /TASS/. The European Union may soon exhaust the capability of introducing new sanctions against Russia, Russian Permanent Representative to the EU Vladimir Chizhov told the Russia-24 TV channel on Friday.

"I think that it [the EU’s sanctions limit] is already close to exhaustion despite the fact that they continue to act tough, saying that the sanctions are crippling. They cripple themselves now more than Russia and the Russian economy," he said.

On Thursday, the envoys of EU countries approved the fifth package of sanctions against Russia which in particular provides for restrictions with regards to private individuals and financial institutions as well as introduces an embargo on importing coal from Russia and the deliveries of high-technology products.
