Okay. Thanks for the response. I currently work as a maintenance engineer with my HND. My wife's work experience doesn't really tally with her certificate. Once again, thank you for your response. 1 Like |

@tunlex01, please is it compulsory to use the anzscosearch after one knows the body that will assess his/her certificate? Does the same body assess qualifications too?. Thank you. How much does EA assess electrical engineering certificate? |
Re: DIY Guide To Australian Permanent Resident Visa - Part 2 by tunlex01(m): 2:18pm On Mar 28, 2022 |
adeyhariet:Not really but it may give you an overview of the occupation you want to assess whether it is viable for state nomination or not. Assessing authorities assess both qualifications and experience. Check EA's website for the cost 1 Like |

@tunlex01, don't mind my bugging you with questions. From the EA, is it for migrants I will select or for individuals(assessment). |

@yunlex01, the table under that choosing your assessment pathway is confusing. |

adeyhariet: Apply under migrant pathway. Should cost about $800+ AUD for normal timeline and fast track process cost a bit more 1 Like |

@tunlex01, I heard from an Australian citizen that they do not give positive assessment to HND holders. Please who can confirm this? 1 Like |

You need a bachelor degree in order for you to be positively assessed as a professional Engineer. Try exploring TRA option Please read up the MSA Booklet attached. https://www.engineersaustralia.org.au/sites/default/files/MSA%20Booklet%20(March%202020).pdf adeyhariet: 1 Like |

ekenweohia:Tough one. You can assess with EA as a professional engineer. You have to decide on the exact occupation you want to assess with them. Sadly, you won't get any point for experience which will reduce your score. You may have to write English test to get a minimum of 8 in each band to have 20 points and boost your total scores. You cannot assess with ACS as a software developer as your degree is not related and you don't have enough experience for ACS to work with. |
Re: DIY Guide To Australian Permanent Resident Visa - Part 2 by tunlex01(m): 1:35pm On Apr 04, 2022 |
Lacomb: You have different options to assess multiple occupations. IT support technician, ICT Customer support officer, Hardware Technician, System Admin, System Analyst. Although these occupations are assessed by TRA and ACS, you have a better chance of getting nomination with TRA than ACS. If funds is not an issue, you can do two assessments (one with each of the bodies) to increase your chance as IT is competitive at the moment. |

0 ekenweohia: I align with @tunlex01 in suggesting that you assess with EA. If you are going to assess as an Engineer, I recommend that you assess as ELECTRICAL ENGINEER. There's a shortage of anything ELECTRICAL in Aussie and the demand is predicted to be strong for a few years. Electronics Engineer doesn't have as much demand. I don't know how many years of experience you have but if you do anything REMOTELY related to electrical engineering, and have payslips, pension, tax and/or bank statements that reflect steady income, then attempt to claim that experience with a well written CDR. |

I have a few enquiry pls I am 33yrs, single Ielts Gen: LWRS:7.5,6.5,7,7.5 B.Eng 2011 (Electrical Engr.) futo M.Eng 2018 (Electrical Engr.) Uniben 7yrs work experience coren registered. Still writing my cdr (80% done) What is the best option to pursue PR in Au? Would going through the Academic pathway (possibly studying an IT course) be a better option or direct PR application. Re: DIY Guide To Australian Permanent Resident Visa - Part 2 by tunlex01(m): 2:04pm On Apr 10, 2022 |
ugift4reel:First, the English result has to change and you need a better result. Do you have salary bank statement, pension and/or tax statements for those 7 years? If you have the funds, you can pursue any electrical technician occupations assessed by TRA as they are less competitive than EA assessed occupations |

tunlex01:Thanks alot for your response. Will have to write another English test Yes I do (would verify for pension cos the company was not remitting initially) Would research on TRA occupations |
