I want us to get another intelligent and technical player like jorginho while also getting the brawls of a kante-esque player. We need creativity in that middle, we need midfielders that aid the attackers by also chipping in the occasional goal and assist at least 20G\A like Kross, kdb, Pogba etc.

I remember the coach always saying that the first prerequisite to being a midfielder is to always watch your back. Before you receive a ball, look behind you; you are the shield that protects your defence, so try as much as you can not to be caught unaware.

With this said, Kante made a schoolboy error which all but depicts his lack of footballing culture. No player is above criticism no matter how spectacular they might seem to be.

The camera angle created a false impression. That ball was not played into Kante to "receive". That ball was well wide of him and his expectation and any reasonable expectation is that RLC should be favourite for that ball. He stopped to create the passing angle for RLC, but RLC was dead on his feet, and when he saw RLC wasn't getting there, he continued the chase. This is a case of a skewed camera angle giving a dog a bad name. I know my Kante can never stop for no reason in a dangerous position, and his immediate continuation of the chase showed he did not give up. Watch 8.35 of the below. This is RLC ball.

Tuchel is a good coach, and Chelsea played well yesterday they were just unfortunate
