Imagine if the whole aspirants can stand before IMF, World bank, UN and International community and gets voted same way Okonjo Iweala was elected.
If background and sound tested achievement are to be factored, Peter Obi remains the best to lead this nation out of the darkness that is before her.

You see, the world at large is going into recession meaning that even China will not have enough to loan to Nigeria, this means that the evil you see in Buhari days will surely be multiplied if Nigeria make the wrong choice.

Don't get me wrong Men like Osibanjo has what it takes but he is an accomplise to the failure of Mohammed Buhari and has not proven himself anywhere as a great adminstrator, secondly Nigeria needs a president that understands economics and not a theorist but local market, micro and macro manager with vision for growth.

Both Osibanjo and Peter Obi are similar is simplicity, humility, focus, academically sound but Peter Obi have showed his mark in Anambra state during his tenure and understands both macro and micro level of international and local economies.

I hated the trader money and 5000 alert policy devised by Osibanjo, I think it was lame and stupid as it created avenue for looters..

So 4 kinds of Nigerians that doesn't want Peter Obi close to that seat are (Both in PDP and APC)

1. Of course, ethnic bigots and tribal warlords who dine and wine with Igbophobia, to them it's better to die than Igbo man becoming the president of Nigeria.
In fact it's better for Nigeria to burn to pieces or for them to remain poor if it's only an Igbo man that will save them.

2. Looters - I have to be honest with you, this one is not Buhari will fight corruption. This man will even cause confusion in PDP, infact they shouldn't even bother to put him since they've been hungry for the last near 8 years, Peter Obi is very very Stingy to a fault, don't think it's in the interest of any looter to support him.

3. Men of arrogancy- there is a difference between looting and keeping quiet and looting and making noise in the name of showcasing wealth. Well, Obi doesn't believe Nigeria is a rich Country therefore No need extravagant lifestyle and this is based on his faith. Noisy looters will not want such man as he has sacks of sand for their garri.

4. Religious zealots - This ones needs serious help, these set believe in their Allah and Gods, an extension of Buhari to maybe Tinuby means their Allah is so mighty and powerful or God of the General overseer is the greatest.
Not quite sure what religion Obi practice but sure these set sees presidency as trophies from the gods yet their God doesn't see the calamity of a nation we have either have their God turn Nigeria to Singapore or at least Malaysia.

All ye anti Obi ,check yourselves on these four measures..

Please add those that don't want to starve to death under his presidency. He's already threatening Nigerians with starvation and austerity before he's even elected as president.

I have only watched just one interview of Peter obi since I started hearing of him and the impression I got about him that day still lingers on. It was his interview alongside Atiku with Kadaria during the last presidential election. He was asked a question about taking the state money and investing it in his personal business. The arrogance with which he answered the question, without seeing anything bad in it as long as he "made money for the people" shocked shocked. Since that day, I have seen him only as a smart thief, not different from Tinubu, Oshiomole,Ganduje, Kwankwaso, Ibori, Igbinedion, Alameiseighea, Atiku, El-Rufai, PMB, Obj, Gej, IBB, Absulsalami, Abba Kyari and many others who aren't smart but just took advantage of the weak institutions in Nigeria to hide their crime.

It goes beyond that with Peter Obi. He once argued that you can't use infrastructure to improve the economy. Like seriously??

https://www.google.com/amp/s/www.pulse.ng/news/local/peter-obi-to-buhari-you-cant-use-infrastructure-to-improve-the-economy/njcr2hz.amp

That's enough to convince me that he doesn't know what he's talking about, and would prefer fiscal austerity to spending to stimulate the economy when necessary. Perhaps he's just saying these things to score cheap political points, else he's only exposing his hypocrisy. Afterall, he was part of GEJ's administration that borrowed over a billion dollars to pay salaries (a kind of consumption). That economy was being managed by the world-renowned Okonjo Iweala. And I assume that she made that judgement call of financing 'consumption'/salary payment via debt due to the exigency of the situation. So Obi is telling us that he would rather have those workers that Iweala borrowed to pay their hard-earned salaries starve just to prove a point?? He's obviously talking out of his arse.

First of all, Obi was never a part of Jonathan's government, he largely wasn't even in the PDP then.

Secondly, let's even assume he was a part of GEJ's government, Obi has been extremely vocal about his disapproval of borrowing for salaries or for consumption. He's always been a very very vocal advocate of borrowing to fund investment opportunities which are proven to create wealth both in the short run (i.e. supporting SMEs) and long run (massive education of the populace). Building infrastructure (e.g. road and rails) is very good, but prioritising key infrastructure such as power generation and distribution would translate to a far greater positive economic impact is more important (that has always been Obi's philosophy).

And then whilst it's important to pay salaries, borrowing huge sums of money to pay salaries is and has always been the most useless form of borrowing. Obi has always echoed the fact that money to pay salaries can be generated internally without having to borrow; principally through cutting the clearly obscene cost of governance in Nigeria. He did this very successfully whilst he was governor in Anambra and was hated severely by politicians for this (he was impeached twice for insisting on cost cutting measures). Infact my fear about an Obi presidency is that his mandate would be severely frustrated by the NASS and the general political class in Nigeria; he could even be assassinated within the first year.

If you believe borrowing billions to pay salaries of a tiny population of Nigerians (i.e. civil servants and government workers) is more important than borrowing to invest in SME's and a most important infrastructure like power (which can impact a larger population of Nigerians), kindly point out to us how that borrowing for consumption by GEJ and secretely by PMB has impacted Nigeria?

As for me and my house, if the PDP can field Obi and the APC Osinbajo, then I'll gladly go to my beach house, light up my cigar and relax cos I know Nigeria will eventually fall into good hands either way.

I think number 1, the tribal bigots and number 4. The religious bigot are more in number, people like that journalist called kperogi falls into this category,,,but I am not surprised " over riped mangoes received attacks from ants and pests" all those criticizing peter obi are pests and rodents grin, peter obi is ripe for the presidency and as we all know any good fruit will always receive attack, so let the pests continue with there rants grin grin grin

Yimu. Peter Obi is just an educated but more austere version of Buhari (version 2.0). I doubt that Nigerians will be willing to tolerate such a leader at this point in time. We don't need austerity but rather economic stimulation. Peter Obi has consistently positioned himself as the poster boy for fiscal austerity; he's always on about how he owns just 1 wrist watch, lives a village life, etc. Unfortunately for him, Buhari already casted that playbook tey tey.

His mediocre performance as governor doesn't help his case either. What are his legacies in Anambra? He claimed to have left billions for his successor who is on record for refuting such claims. No record of any impressive improvement on his state's physical infrastructures throughout his tenure (which lends credence to his ignorant belief that infrastructure doesn't improve an economy).

How was the state's IGR under his 8-yr tenure compared to Ngige and Obiano? If he couldn't demonstrate the initiative nor creativity to improve the state's ability to generate revenue internally throughout his tenure (the records are in the public domain), how does he intend to do so at the national level with dwindling oil revenues, besides pontificating against debt financing?

Your attempt to excuse his gaffe concerning the impact of infrastructure on the economy is understandable because you support his ambition, but some of us can see through his facade. Obi is at best a quack wannabe economist whose tenure would leave the country worse than it currently is.

Your 3years old son gets angry whenever you give him a food he doesn't want and throws it on you, you laugh and say " children ehh"
Baby boy will lift his hands and slap you when he wants you to drop him... All you'd say is "you're beating mummy "
No other child in that area messes with him... And you're calling him "A no- nonsense boy"
He picks up things from the ground and hits people whenever he's stopped from doing something... You smile and call him "action boy‍♂️‍♂️"
You expose him to all manner of violence and say "He's a man, man suppose get mind"
Few years down the line the teenage boy bullies his sisters, commands them around, shares slaps as souvenirs to anyone that dares to challenge him. You call him "man of the house"
He grew up having his way all through. Now he's a full grown man in the society. And it's not funny anymore.
Abusive husbands didn't fall from the sky, someone raised a boy wrongly.

Peter Obi is the best candidate. No Politian in Nigeria has shown as much maturity. His attitude is positive. He sticks to issues even when pushed to talk about individuals. Only tribalism will stop Peter Obi from leading Nigeria out of the chaotic situation. We will be worse off as a result.
