First,don't plug in the charger and if it is possible remove the back cover and detach the battery.

Drive the display adapter, go to device manager, click on it , right click on the Microsoft adapter and click on update.

My Dell Latitude e6430 needs a complete replacement of keyboard. One key is not working at all and it's a very important key for me.

In my case, the screen does not go blank initially. Then goes blank before it gets to "windows", after that it is only keyboard that would be on. I haven't been able to take it to a technician, because the last one just looked at the system and claimed it was screen. I feel it has to do with software updates, because it always shows without any glitch then goes blank after loading for a while.

He is right,it might be the screen or from the motherboard, software update can't be the issue.

I have one experience like that,it will work fine immediately you power it on but once it get to desktop the back light will off.

I replaced the screen and it works fine.

You have described the problem the way it is. I guess that I would have to change the screen then. I do appreciate your help
