If you check the status of your application does it say something like "Your application is approved, and you should send your passport----etc"?
If so then it's likely they've sent your PPR to the physical address stated on the application.

Same thing happened to my spouse's application; though we didnt get BVL (uptil now) but it states our application was approved and we were waiting for PPR until we were told its been mailed to the physical address; and since we knew we would likely not receive a physical copy we had to send an email to IRCC requesting them to send the PPR via email.
If that's the case here, I'll advice you reach out them.

They avoid sending the PPR via email if it's not been up to 4 weeks since it was mailed, but yours seems to be over already. All the best!

This delay in your application after receiving 2 BVL is quite unusual and saddening. Have you reached out to the MP? Did you check your spam messages recently? Also did you try sending an emotional message via webform daily? I will advise you also put a call through to Nairobi office after the holiday.

This is just a phase and it will end in praise for you.

Hi @GodsGabby, referring to this post and the ones following, I think you have to make do with what you have first. If I may suggest, get the two years study permit first, and the visitor's visa for your husband. If your intention is to become a PR/citizen of Canada, you can achieve that within the time space of your 2 years? study. With PR, your husband can have pathway to unlimited access to Canada.

Now, except your husband has good travel history or strong financial backings/home ties, it may be difficult to get approval for tourist visa. Even if it scales through, the visa duration may not be beyond six months.

I have a few suggestions for you on how you can go about your application (1) You can apply for the entire family at once, i.e. you- study permit, your husband and kids-visitor's visa in one application. There is a caveat here however, you need to write a very convincing SOP in support of your application. Anticipate visa officers likely thought process against your application and provide counter argument. If I were you, I will take this option (2) You apply first. Once your application is approved and you arrive in Canada, you can then file for your husband and kids. The challenge with this option is numerous- if you use your spouse and the kids as home ties to get your study visa approved, application for your family would most likely not sail through unless you can demonstrate that they still remain home ties and do not have the intention of living permanently in Canada. Time is also another hurdle to contend with......

We checked yesterday and saw that the average processing timeline for a visitor's visa applied in Nigeria is 146 days while in Cameroon is 34 days. I was told this is because of the backlogs of untreated applications from Nigeria.

We have about 3 months to this exam and scared that should we decide to apply in Nigeria, the application may never be looked at before the exams date. We don't know if it is possible and a good idea to apply in Cameroon or another neighbouring country since the applications can be done online as well. My wife is about 8 months pregnant now and will be due anytime next month.

Please kindly advise for those who have had experience regarding this.

@GodsGabby, the length of your spouse visit visa will most likely be dependent on the duration of your study permit. I somehow share the same sentiment with your husband, that is, I'm not really interested in staying in Canada unless I get something really huge.

My spouse has also applied for study permit along with the kids, which is on a separate term as mine. I was also reliably informed that I can get a separate work permit visa tied to my wife's study permit visa duration with my visit visa duration still intact.

I will advice that if your husband has a blood relation in Canada who is a citizen or a PR holder, he should apply through them for a visit visa. Otherwise, I don't know if what you're asking for is possible.

Gurus in the house can give more insights on your question.

Hi!

You don’t need to apply from Cameroon since you don’t reside there. If you apply through the new portal, you should get a response before August.

So many people have gotten their Visas without prior travel history. You really don’t have to travel to get your visa approved.

Just repackage your SOP with supporting documents to strengthen your home ties and state the responsibilities that has been holding you back from making an international trip. This will address the VO’s concerns.

A monikers VV on the SOWP forum was refused sometimes in January based on Purpose of visit, family ties and travel history. She reapplied few days after by doing what I suggested earlier and her visa was approved.

It is a delay not a denial! I wish you success in your next application.

Apply thru the new portal, you will surely get the response before then..ircc is fast in processing of visitor's visa now.
