There's this feeling I get when i think about eating a chicken that died from one cause or the other. This also applies to goats and other animals.

I have seen some hurriedly slaughter a ram or goat that is about dying, probably from an accident.

So, yesterday, I saw some people rushing chicken.

I asked how much it cost, and they said, just 1k!

as in, 1K for a full grown chicken?




so i enquired more, and found that those chicken were dead, that's why they are sold so cheap.

This is disgusting to me. Does it mean some of those barbecue sellers grill dead meat for us? Hope suya isn't made from dead meat?




Apart from the disgusting feeling, is there any logical or scientifically backed reason why dead meat should be avoided?

What are the side effects of consuming dead meat?

All meat are meant to be eating dead and not alive except you are a vampire or wild predator animal

A properly cooked meat can not transmit germs, bacteria or viruses while eating them

So except you are a Muslim that Allah specifically instructed on how to kill a livestock then no big deal eating a dead meat


Tuna, Hot dogs, Sussages, Frozen Chicken, Frozen turkeys , Sardines and all processed meat sometimes don't get slaughtered like your regular livestock you kill at home or at the market

None really. So long as you prepare the meat well, you should be fine.

Side effects? No idea but Google roadkill cuisine for possible ideas on what to look for and how to prepare the dead meat.
