V.O : what are your plans after your degree
Me: After my studies I will be coming back to Nigeria to take up a role as a senior engineer In my current place of work and I have future plane of opening my own firm in nigeria.

Your family will definitely will be there as you are not fully funded (That is, ZERO Deficit) ! Just fill the name of your sponsor (who’s responsible for the $5k deficit you have) inside The Who’s paying for your trip.

A better way of asking this question is to tell us what you've put forward to deserve one. In other words, What are your profile, experience, and research interests?

This is because, ideally, no body can tell you for certainty where you'd get funded.

Family! Remember, you didn't get your I-20 without an SOA because it is not a Zero deficit.
The name on the SOA/I-20 is what you should put.

Hello house’ my brother entered the US using f1 three years back and now a PR. The POF account he used belongs to my uncle. Now I have gotten my I-20 and about to book for interview. Can I still use the same uncle account, hope my uncle name is not linked to him already. I’m thinking maybe there is anyway his name might pop out from their system when I use the same uncle as sponsor. I changed my home address because of this to avoid similarity or anything that can link him to me

F2 can do ‘anything’ like an F1 on CGI portal. Same fee; same mode of payment; same Visa category.

It MIGHT just be hard getting it, because they would think “Wetin F2 wan rush go do for Yankee” unlike F1 that has an actual purpose and intended arrival date.

The cost of living in California is scary and that’s why many prospective students avoid the state even though they’ve best universities in the states! Try and look at other states like texas, Oklahoma, Georgia, Illinois etc this states are affordable, cheap and destinations for many international students as they offer Graduate Assistantship positions to students and there is high diversity of International students so as to acclimatize on time.

The program start date on my I-20 is 30th July while start of classes is 9th August.

In my DS-160, when I’m filling the intended travel date, do I pick a time that is before 30th July (Program start date), say 25th of July or I can pick a date that is after program start date but not before 9th August (start of classes) , say 1st August.

I know that it’s just an estimate but I no want make mistake dey my DS-160, so if anyone has an idea, please answer.

good day everyone, please my brother applied to Lagos but couldn't get a date but going for summer intake and he Applied for emergency appointment but was denied so he had to change to Abuja, buy unfortunately for him he could get a nearer date also in abuja and the emergency request form did not show anymore on the Portal for him to apply for emergency appointment to Abuja and he will be resuming to school by next month on the 9, please what can he do and how can he get a nearer date. although he has emailed Abuja but they haven't replied him yet.

You can select any date between the Earliest Admission date and Program Start date as stated on your I-20 to be safe.

In your case this would be between June 30 and July 30.

You can use anyone’s bank statement as POF.

As long as you are able to convincingly explain to the VO why that person would be spending such funds for your studies.

How about MIT

On a serious note, there are thousands of schools in the US that have scholarships for that program. Do some due diligence and research. No one knows your strengths except you. Maximize them.
