Greetings lovely people. I have a question. I’m trying to apply for some courses in Spain but most of the courses I like are offered in Spanish, now my question is does Spain offer preparatory language courses which I can enroll in for some months then apply for my desired course afterwards. Thanks

I don't have information on that. But have you considered Scandinavian unis? It may be free. And they're more likely to offer the program you want in English.

If you need help, I can guide you from getting admission to getting your visa till your enter Spain.

This isn’t free… you can check my profile as proof that I was once here asking questions too about travelling abroad.

So is it safe to have your money fixed in your personal account or sponsor account as proof of funds when applying for visa, and if you were to use your personal account must you provide salary pay slips and appointments letter for visa application. Just to be guided!

Hello Everyone,

So I got quite a number of requests so I have decided to do a break down of my process for everyone here.

Note things might have changed so you need to check with the authorities involved.

Application and admission

Feb - April 2021 Application to different schools
May 2021 Got admission in Spain, paid €1,500 reservation fee then school sent admission letter (electronic and hard copy), insurance, proof of accomodation (for visa application)

Document gathering for visa application

Processed my transcript, certified true copy of certificate and reference letter from my university. To get the certified true copy I scanned my original certificate to my school, they printed it there and stamped, then included a reference letter stating I graduated from the school. All three documents were sent to the consulate. Do this and ensure the documents arrive the consulate before legalization.

I had state birth certificate so I did affidavit at NPC. I basically didn't even enter, at the security point I told them what I wanted to do, the security said he will call someone for me, which he did, told me how much to pay and he will call me when it's ready which he did

Medicals, used garki general hospital. Well I wanted to actually do check up not just pay for documents. Everything including tests and seeing a doctor cost 15k. Ensure the write the exact complete full sentence stating in line wIth section .....

Ministry of education legalization. I didn't have my WAEC certificate so I had to go to WASC hq gwagwalada to process some sort of declaration which I needed to do affidavit for also did that at Sharia court. There's a baba who sits in front of the court that does it. The people at gwagwalada office will direct you. After gwagwalada I had to go back to MOE to do the legalization there. This whole process took like 3days with Abeg and like 30k.

Ministry of foreign affairs legalization. One woman at MOE directed me to a contact at Foreign affairs. Met the woman outside, gave her the documents, paid like 1k or so (this was the cheapest as the woman didn't add extra money, can't remember exact amount) then picked up next day.

Police report. Got to Force HQ Abuja, they asked me at the gate, told them my purpose. They told me to wait, called one lady that came to the gate to pick me up, went in with her and filled the application and paid the normal amount ( can't remember exactly, either 10k or 12k). She called when it was ready for pickup, also got their automatic text.

Legalization at consulate

While I was preparing my documents, I sent an email to the consulate to confirm they had received my documents from my university and booked an appointment for legalization.

I only legalized university certificate, police report, birth affidavit.

Visa application

I applied for visa same day I collected my legalized document at the consulate. Then you didn't need appointment but I hear you need now for visa application.

I got my visa after a month or so. When I didn't hear from the consulate, I contacted my school and they contacted the consulate. My school informed me that my passport has been ready so I went to pickup.

arriving Barcelona

School helped me get an accomodation (not all schools do this)
Budget like €600 per month for rent, feeding, transportation. This amount is small if you are not a minimalistic person.

You will need to register to get you residence permit. The appointment for this is hard to get, just ask your school to help with this process.

If you are in Barcelona, you can register for free health service. Go to any nearby CAP center with you registration of address which you must have done at your town hall.

Register for a public library card, go to any nearby public library. This card can give you free access to some paid tourist site.

As a student, you are not permitted to work. However you can do internship (if you find) and if your school is willing to give you an internship agreement.

Make friends with people around, attend a church if you are a Christian, you can connect with helpful people there.

I won't be able to answer questions about after studies as I am no longer in Spain.

Other points I missed.

POF: 8m and no that amount wasn't in my account for long, it was put in same week I applied.

POF was in my personal account not a sponsor.

For Germany, you need to have lived in a place for atleast 6months before you can apply for their long stay(student) visa from that country, otherwise you will need to go back to Nigeria to apply from.

oseremenifidon:
Really there are questions people shouldn't be asking here.
It put to question their intellectual capacity as a student. Asking this kind of question is like asking how can I move from delta state to edo state.
Spain is in the schengen region just like Germany so accessing it won't be as difficult as from Nigeria. However, you still need to present your admission letter and block account/SL to the German embassy so they can register your stay in Germany. Please do your little research before asking questions if you are asking this kind of question from Spain, then what do you expect our Nigerian brother's to be asking..

Very insightful bro, but would love to know was it only your bank statements you submitted as proof of funds or you added other documents like your company payments slip.
Thanks.

I don't know the government policy on this, but what could they do to stop you from freelancing (for entities outside the country) or working remotely for a foreign firm?

And Spain is a cheap place to live, so you wouldn't need an "American" salary.
Re: Spanish Student Visas by imran90(m): 2:42pm On Jun 10, 2022
You should try to mail the school for clarifications. To my little knowledge Tourism- under 90days, Short Term Student Visa- under 180days and Student Visa for above 1 year program.

What are the chances of getting visa if someone apply for this short term programs like language course. Please I need your response, if a visa was refuse after paying for both accommodation and school fees including enrollment and material fees and the visa was not granted it will be double loss to me. I'm very sure no school we make a total refund.

Hi Guys,

So I followed this thread whilst planning and processing my application.

I went in today for. Legalization and was told to come collect all documents on Friday.

Just to let y'all know that it is now 18,500 naira per page. E.g your police character is a 2 page document hence you'd pay 18500 naira each.

I am going for master so the only documents requested were
1. University certificate original copy(note a CTC had been sent from my school directly to them and they acknowledged)
2. Birth certificate attestation
3. Police character.

The next stage is Visa.

Hope this update helps others upcoming

Hi, thanks for this update. Does this mean you didn’t have to take your CTC to MOE and MFA after your school sent it to them? Please kindly explain to me. Thanks
