Putin is not wise, if you want to imitate America, imitate them in all ramifications, before America will invade a country, they will first consult and agree with other world leaders and also have the consent of large population of that country. You can't just wake up one day and single handedly invade other country without opposition from other world leaders.

It is one of the attributes of knowing military strength- the number of military personnel.
Ah! In that case Vietnam should be world's number one!

If you know what military strength is about, I'm sure you wouldn't count numbers concerning it. I guess the first point is about military hardware sophistication... That's why for instance, in Europe, Russia is number one with about 3.6million troops and heavy military hardware, but France and UK rank following her in that order even with far lesser military personnel (at less than 400k & 300k respectively for personnel count)...
Ukraine didn't even make the top 10 despite her over 1million personnel!

So, besides, hardware sophistication, the size of country's budget (for military), quality of training and warfare strategies also count before the troop size!

If you're talking in terms of military personnel, I can agree with you. But note that the number of troops doesn't translate to military strength!
You confuse largest with strongest and powerful.

Not all NATO countries have nukes. In fact, only US, France and UK has nukes. The U.S. has nuclear weapons in Europe, at air bases in NATO members Belgium, Germany, Italy, the Netherlands and Turkey.

US is nothing without NATO. Their strategy has always been using NATO countries to starts the wars before going into the last stages to deliver the final blow when their enemies already tired.

A world war is about immense destruction not selected bombardment of cities, In a world war, no European city will be spared. A total world war could be the end of Europe. Countries like China, Iran, North Korea, India,Syria, Pakistan etc would align with Russia. China has being with Russians a long-standing Ally since the Soviet era, there are even Russian friends in NATO, countries like Turkey, NATO does not even want a world war, but they want the war in Ukraine to linger because they are benefiting from it. So what they are doing in Ukraine is a proxy war, but if prolonged a proxy war could turn into a world war.

The nuclear deterents are already on standby. But Russia has a no first use policy. They will not use it first.

You are asking the wrong question. Your question should be why do countries neighboring Russia live in fears because of this irrational big bully? Finland, Sweden, Georgian, Ukraine, Bulgaria, Estonia etc? If Russia was such a God big brother to live beside, non of them would even consider the West as an option. Russia could review its foreign policy and pursue friendly relations with these guys. Eastern Europe countries don’t exactly fancy western ways, Russia left them with no choice. There’s only one bully in these stories.
