So yes I do buy a lot. I am also a techie. As a Nigerian I have occasionally had the misfortune of wasting money on pricey items that fell apart shortly after. There is little or no consumer protection here, so you can never be too careful.

Incidentally I bought the t470p for my daughter as an upgrade to her t460 so she can play more graphics intensive games. Intel 520 graphics and a TN screen are not it. She is having a blast with it. As expected, the battery is actually at 75% capacity. Not 'very good'

For thinkpads it's straight forward. Install lenovo vantage from Microsoft store. Once set up there will be a battery on your task bar. If you go through the software you will find a tab that tells you the wear and tear on the battery. Ie the battery's design capacity may be 76wh,but the current max capacity is 50wh.



i use a thinkpad p71. last year my battery suddenly went bad without warning. this battery is maybe 12 months now. you can see it has lost 10% of its capacity as its design capacity is 96WH and it is now at 85WH

For non thinkpads there is an app called battery bar. You can also get full details of your battery from it
just google batterybar. i dont want to put link because of sp1mbot

there is no need for the pro version. free version works fine. you can also find the exact information of just how much max charge you battery is still holding
