Tx for ur response. I m a FTM.Pls enlighten me,I use to wonder why 2 3 4 pple will come and say they want to help in taking care of one baby. What is taking care of baby apart from bathing(they don't baff hourly nah) diaper changing, feeding( u are the one with breast),they can't help unless u are bottlefeeding, household chores and cooking(these are normal normal).i m rly curious

Taking care of a baby plus yourself is serious work if you're not a domesticated person like me. I couldn't walk well due to the stitches, doing house chores was not easy at all. You're eating and the baby needs your attention of which my mum warns me to always finish my meal before giving baby attention or I'll not be healthy.
Cooking and going to the market isn't easy o as you're struggling to heal.
The thing is the baby will deprive you of sleep at night and if you're alone, it'll be difficult to make up for the sleep loss during the day as you have list of activities waiting for you.
My aunt always advise to have someone around as it can cause postpartum depression

The sleepless nights is second to none,the headache,and if you are alone with no help,once baby is sleeping during the day,you will have loads of chores calling out to you,which you have to do before baby wakes up. If it's not so important it's better to sleep with baby,your body needs the sleep and rest. And do you know that there are some babies that get used to mummy so quick? Like they will want to be in your arms instead of lying down.

By God's grace I should have MIL around. Though I don't have anyone younger than I am around, all of them are much older and na dem Dey do chop chop when I was living with one of them.. There will be no room for that here shaa that's why I want my MIL instead of my mum who they are familiar with

at d end of the day, it is only u that will be thinking of what will they eat o, (chei I hate.),if God wants to catch person let d cheif omugwo be aged woman that usually eat breakfast by 7am, lunch by 1pm, predinner 4pm, before dinner.

In Michael Jackson voice....you are not alone.i can't even sleep, nausea is another level, the pressure at my pelvic is even making me scare of pooing, baby is not doing as if d space tight am, still moving round. at the mark of 40wks+ like this, I will hands up for induction.May God take all d glory to d end

When she gives birth, her MIL comes around, her siblings will come and sometimes sleep over with kids.. I will Cook and cook, clean and clean, na so-so chop chop and everywhere will be so noisy and untidy no matter how many times you clean.. I suffer that year ooo

If the 'some people' are staying over for days there must have been an arrangement who is doing d cooking n others.anybody that cant help in those areas is a loss. If the people are come and go set, no cooking for them, I will just do chinchin or biscuits sef inside house, serve them with water or drink.then with tears eyes,begin use languages like, I need to wash,this n that..and i m so tired. It will be either they help out or leave.

Is better to stand your ground, don't tolerate any extra work,else ehn some human being go just frustrate you. Thinking it's an opportunity to come enjoy,and na those type no dey bring shishi as gift give baby . If you give room for entertainment,they will take it for granted sit down and occupy both your space and food no go fall sick after they left or have back pain issues.

Because with my many years of experience as a mother,if I talk now,some present generation mamas will come for my head and I can boldly said my experience was worth it. Some of the things that some doctors do kick against these present days. E.g hot water bath and massage. It helps mother's alot till date. The deal is I do what favours I and my child not what people say,and no regrets or disadvantages till date. Alhamdulillah

wat u pipu shld realise is dt tommy goin bk to almost its original size is bcs baby sucks ur breast which mkz d uterus contract mking it shrink n not d hot water massage... I stil cnt pinpoint d connectn....wit my first born, my mom tried to massage me wit hot water but ano gree ooo n my belle went bk to its original size bcs my baby suck on my breast very well b4 2weeks i was alrrady flaunting d flat tommy, wen my mom saw dis she understand dt We africans hv bein punjshin ourselves.... But with my second, he refused suckin straight frm my breast, so i tried d hot water n my tommy is still lookin as if i am 3months preggy... Wen my body heal well, wil just head to d gym 4 help.

i tell u... Wat i am facing now wit my body is swollen leg, elevated bp n headache due to sleepless night n day... Hubby not helping at all... Imagine!! If i tell him i just wanna go buy smtin down s road dt e shld watch ova d baby, e will tell me to carrybl him along... Bottle fed baby oo, breastmilk r inside fridge dt e can easily tk frm n feed baby wen he cry if i am not around but e chose not to help... Smh!!! E doesn't even look my side wen i complain of bodyache instead e complains of wat i didnt do in d aous.

dem no get work ni , wen i gav birth to my firstborn in nigeria, was stayin wit my granny at d time but granny cnt do much cs she is very old... my mom n sister take turn in comin to assist me cs dey both ve shops to run... Tnk God we also ve a maid who really helped me aaaallooot... Especially in carry baby, she loves to carry my baby den n even backed him... I had lots n lots of rest den, my skin was shinning n i bcm more fairer wit fine better sharp after birth... Not now stress hv turned me to old mama.

Lol punishing our selves? . Yu know first childbirth tummy is very easy to go back to been flat, unlike we that already have more kids. We learn everyday Sha. Another thing I noticed about the massage is it helps me relieve of waist pain,this I am 100% sure. When I had my baby boy 2020,that died after 4 weeks,he never sucks,that experience wasn't easy,even feeding bottle na by force,so I result to the massage to see if it can help and it did help me out as expected. Body differs Sha and I will sure look out to the breastfeeding thing you said. Thanks for the enlightenment. Abeg go gym as planned it's a good idea really.

Oh dear,you are really trying fa! Carrying baby everywhere is really not easy on it's own. So so sorry,your leg should have gone back to normal by now but the stress won't let it. But why is baby still refusing direct breastfeeding? Is it shakara on his part or what exactly?

lol... Some people r just opportunist ... I once helped my aunt wen she gave birth to her first child wen i was lil, she totally turned me to a full housemaid n nanny n maltreated me badly... Omo!!! I suffered, stayed wit her 4 7months b4 i finally ran away b4 she kill me... She hardly do anythin nor attend to her baby... I did literally everything to d extent dt weneva i am goin to sch, it ws headache 4 her cs she wil ve to attend to her baby 4 d hrs i ws absent... One day she beat me mercilessly... Why? Bcs i went to visit my dad... I let her beat me den i went n pack my tinz n bid her gudbye wen my mom saw me wit scares al over my body she was terrified... Nva went bk to her place til date.
