It depends if the reason you broke up with her is justified. If it's an ego driven reason then you'll suffer for months or even years before you adapt to being without her and even then she'll cross your mind every now and then, and feel the sting of the pain but you'll know how to cope. But if it's a reason based on morals and principles and you feel justified then you'll recover in a month or two.
