false! a cbm of battery goods is currently between 420k to 500k. go ask shippers now.
again u are misyarning, no sane person will use 32pcs 100ah cells to build a 200ah 48v battery bank when 200ah cell are readily available and a little cheaper. u might need glasses, because my 100ah cells is 36k, not 38k. if u have good reasoning, u should have known, that the bigger the capacity of cells, the lesser the price, thats why 100ah is 40$, 200ah 70$ while 302ah is 105$

until u import your meritsun and it lands naija, landing cost calculated, true capacity of the cell inside ascertained. then we can talk.

my cells not targetted for 48 system. simply carry your L and move bro. until u become a merisun distributor and market yours for under 1million, then we know u are serious. cheers cheesy

Shut your stupid mouth. The lithium batteries I currently use, i imported myself from china. I am trying to be cultured wit u but u want me to go all out. Stupid Nigerians who think they have to make 50% profit on imported goods. Where did you import a cbm of battery goods for 500k? I import for a living. If you want proper contacts, you ask instead of spewing stupidity. How much is an entire container of batteries that a cbm is 500k?

Wether 24v or 48v, your batteries are ridiculously priced and u are no better than the alaba dealers that you curse here everyday. At 24v, that is still over 600k for a 24v 200ah bank without balancing and a proper bms. Because u have joined a group to import a few pieces of batteries now, you have suddenly become an expert on battery goods. You want to place all your life problems on this few pieces of batteries you want to sell.

Simply ask for contacts so i show u how it is done.

Greedy Nigerians!

Price looks attractive, have you bought the bank Bro? Just interested in your experience of it.....

So much knowledge here but I come again...

I'm not even sure where to start... But I'll narrate my full story and beg for help + guidance

Nepa in my area is pretty good. If it goes, not for more than 2hrs per day. Most days we get 24hrs. (But at almost N80 per kw, it's not affordable anymore! Hence the desire to go offgrid)

So the plan is to have two solar setups one for the house and the second for the workshop

Setup1(workshop): 8x 250 watt solar panels with 3 kva hybrid inverter. Now, I just bought 10kw lipo battery (2x 24v 200ah) rebranded blue carbon batteries.
The bluecarbon batteries has been rebranded by a local supplier. The guy na cool guy, but Mehn, these batteries has been disappointing ooo. They cycle twice each night... How is that even possible? Even the lead acid I replaced it with performed better when new.

But I am trying to be objective so now, I'm looking for ways to install some kind of monitor to log all the required stats. (my load average is like 600W per hr) but I want to monitor the whole thing before I head back to confront the supplier. I have it fully on Nepa bypass now so the 2 batteries are always fully charged and I'm monitoring my loads over the period of 1 to 2 weeks. Then I'll switch off bypass and see what the performance is. I can post results here.

Questions: Can I install passive monitoring for how much is being generated, battery charge and load.
Also, the hybrid inverter is rebadged from Arnergy. Is there a way I can get the actual model number so I can see the features and how I can connect a raspberry pi for monitoring.

Setup 2: 16x 350w Panels with a 5kva GENNEX (Aspert) hybrid inverter. (No batteries yet)

This is yet to be installed as I'm still gathering money for batteries. The load this will be powering ranges from 15 to max 30kw per day. Looking to slowly build up to 30kwh battery bank, since a good portion of the loads will be during the day so will be covered by the panels. Night loads is max 15kw.

Questions: Those bluecarbon batteries have been a let down... I don't even want to look at felicity as they seem to be in the same category with bluecarbon.
Is the "Jos Guy" the only person assembling batteries in Nigeria to a high quality? Are there any good brands to look at (aside from [$]Plyont£ch[/$] )

Looking forward to some guidance please

If you have Nepa for almost 24 hours, why are you then stressing about your consumption and analysis, just Load the Units and see how many you used in a month, use that to Size your Solar panels to generate the same.. it's as simple as that.

Hello house, please I need help from experts in the house,

What is the difference In using a hybrid inverter as against using an inverter with an external charge controller?

To be more specific,
If I have to choose between a Victron quattro 5kVA, victron MPPT charge controller and a Growatt 5kVA hybrid inverter, what are the pros and cons, what are the benefits and differences?

I know the victron with the CC const much more than the Growatt.
Growatt also claims a power factor of 1.

Please people knowledgeable in this area should help.

But if it is of any help, NIPOST bills you something they call "handling fees" for your deliveries. It ranges between 200 naira to 1k before your item is handed over to you.

Speedaf express (an alternative to NIPOST) however delivers without any extra charges including stress-free, fast delivery, reason many buyers pray that the good angel speedaf be the one to handle their shipment rather than the headache-laden services of NIPOST.

Wish you luck.

You need a GX device or Raspberry Pi or other PC running Venus OS. So the CCGX, VenusGX, CerboGX will all work.

The charge limit done via DVCC from a GX device is specific to battery charging - the GX will keep instructing the CCs how much power to allow to pass per time - just enough power to service loads and keep the battery amps where you want them to be.

Whereas if you set a charge limit at the CC, that is a global amps limit - you are simply speccing the max amps that the CC will allow to pass through itself for both battery charging and loads

Thanks a million, you just gave me the ginger to read it up and I think I will try the Rpi with Venus OS, I have a spare pi I can dedicate to this. Was almost going the cerbo route.

Found your post very informative and educative.
Yea, you still have up to date collective memory of my entire setup. Swapping my felicity inverter and Morningstar Mppt for victron was my future designed plan, if victron will still maintain the lead then.

Currently, I'm working on how to control the existing system online and maintain/control the charging profile of the battery bank with my oversized pv.

Since Raspberry Pi could capture data from my felicity inverter via serial, Mppt via modbus TCP and BMV via vebus, then I've less worries as regards monitoring.
SKILLED HAND for the integration of central monitoring dashboard is what I may not get in Akwa Ibom State. Please, I may appreciate recommendations from the neighbouring states.
All I currently need is satisfaction of my investment.

what do you want to control, if it's just charging, your CC is more than sufficient to regulate the amps for your battery. If you are planning something more complicated we can work together to figure it out if you have time. I'm currently tinkering with home assistant(beginner level home automation stuff, but i'm focused more on monitoring my appliances power consumption) so I am having to spend time in the Rpi world. Happy to have a partner to share the suffering with grin

I know my consumption. Its even right there in the post. I use roughly 10kw per day in the workshop and 30kw per day in the house.

My question was not how to measure my consumption boss... It was how to measure my pv generation and battery cycles for 1

It had to be made clear that your answer was completely irrelevant and as a result of you not bothering to read and understand the post sufficiently. cry cry cry

4) A 12v 100ah battery (lithium or lead acid)
