FLASH: The attention of the Lagos State Government has been drawn to the alleged sexual violence case involving students of Chrisland Schools which occurred in Dubai, United Arab Emirates.

It is pertinent to note that all allegations are being investigated by the relevant Ministries, Departments and Agencies, including Ministry of Education, Office of Education Quality Assurance, Ministry of Youth and Social Development, Ministry of Justice and the Lagos State Domestic & Sexual Violence Agency, whilst the criminal allegations have been escalated to the Commissioner of Police.

In view of the allegations, we are committed to ensuring that adequate medical and psycho social support is provided.

This is to reassure members of the public of the State Government’s commitment to safety and child protection, especially in ensuring that all child-centered institutions within the state, formulate and implement policies and systems that are compliant with the Executive Order (NO.EO/AA08 of 2016), Lagos State Safeguarding and Child Protection Program.

We also use this medium to remind the general public that any person who engages in any visual depiction of sexually explicit conduct involving a child, commits an offence and is liable to custodial sentence of fourteen (14) years.

This includes “producing, distributing, receiving, or possessing an image of child pornography”.

In the meantime, all Chrisland Schools within Lagos State are hereby closed, pending further investigations.

Why always Chrisland? How can you be so negligent to leave minors of the opposite sex on their own in a room ? You take a child to dubai and you leave him or her alone in a bedroom with the opposite sex under no supervision? The children may have moral issues and there may be some issues due to the kind of parenting but in the context of this incident, Chrisland was negligent and irresponsible with the children both the girl and the boys. It is not just the girl. The parents of the boys should also go after the school.

Some years ago in 2003, a classmate in babcock University died during a beach field trip arranged by the department in the University . He was 17 years old. He went to swim in the water and got carried away. His body was found days later. His parents took babcock to court and won the case because babcock was said to have not done enough to protect the boy that drowned because he was a minor and under the care of babcock. Bancock tried to justify that he did not have a gate pass nor permission to go for the trip and that had he not died he would have faced disciplinary action. That's a 17 year old how much more this little children.

How could the children not just the girl be given so much room to be in that situation? How ?

I guess we have to wait for the schools official statement . Need to know how a minor was left on her own to be able to do what you said she did. Like I used in the example above , babcock accused the dead boy of all sorts but he was a minor at 17 and the supervision failed . Need to know if the school supervision failed the children too and the steps the school took after the incident and at what point the school learnt about the incident and what they did .

As regards watching the video, I have not and will not watch the video. Also you watching it and distributing it may be breaking the law ; cybercrimes act of 2015.

I like it when Lagos state government always come to and start spitting fire when cases like these spring up.

I've seen just how dire the fire they spit is, especially when you reminisce on the cases of Oromoni et al.

At the end, what happened will happen and nothing will be done to the parties involve, especially the school when they start pulling their muscle against the Lagos state government.

Child sex/pornography worldwide is a big deal. Whether the girl/boys were/are wayward is not the issue here. But the school organised an excursion, took these kids under their care and allowed them to exhibit this shameful behavior. It is negligence, and schools do not have that privilege to be so negligent!
Their parents have not done a great job.

Example 1 girl has sex with 5 boys. She added 5 body counts, while the 5 boys added I body count each.
The girl has more body counts than boys obviously.

Both parents needs to be questioned, you see why I hate kids below 13yrs having android phone that can browse.

As for rape I see nothing like that in the ill fated video all I saw is total negligence

Who posted the video? Why was the video shared? Why do other people feel the need to see children having sex? Coming in contact with child porn in any way can ruin your chances of ever getting a visa, worse, you'll be prosecuted and jailed. Beware!

The way they act depends on the template we handover to them. Very simple.

Coca-Cola is still using the same template and formulae till now. Coke n'a still Coke, Pepsi n'a still Pepsi, no matter now hard they want to copy Coke.

We need to put our foot down and instill the principles we want to see in our children.

Ban all ban-ables (sic), put à filter, use parental contrôls.

Administer, enforce, control, protect and repeat the process. Else, we might end up seeing worse than what we are seeing right now.

How can people be sharing child pornography as if it alright to do so.

There should be serious prosecution of those found culpable in this particular case to serve as deterrence.
