NTSA: SIGHHH....every time I ser news of this terminally fked up place I see one and ONLY one option for the Congolese. Get an armed force to take de facto control of the entire East to provide security for minimum 30 or 50 yrs in exchange for mineral/timber/agricultural concessions. Blackwater/Wagner or similar large PMC with all and any own assets incl air/brown water/civil eng assets for infrastructure development would be more proactive and responsive than an int'l org though the latter IIRC had srs problems in N Moz. Let the Chinese do what they will. The Congolese capacity for unending suffering while surrounded by inhuman Tutsis means this endless bloodletting can simply go on and on and on indefinitely. I don't see any other way out for the Congo: this ishyt's been going on for 3 decades now!? 1 Like |

lionel4power:They are mainly drawn from 20th Parachute battalion and 5th Kenya Rifles battalion plus other units ...so we would say there is a special force element in them. But I think the government does a good job in providing kits for the soldiers . Most of them are generally decent even those in somalia 5 Likes

kikuyu1: I told you about those Germanic rifle makers didn't I!? The U.S. army after over 2 yrs of testing has decided on new rifles. Over a 27-month prototyping and testing periods, hundreds of soldiers, Marines and special operations forces tested and evaluated the rifle and automatic rifle prototypes.https://www.armytimes.com/news/your-army/2022/04/19/army-chooses-sig-sauer-to-build-its-next-generation-squad-weapon/ They need 250k rifles and SAWs to be chambered in 6.8 mm SPC. Frankly, I wonder what took so long to abandon the 5.56x45, a move I've been expecting for a decade. Ballistically speaking it's no contest: In layman's terms, the 6.8mm has 50% more In layman's terms, the 6.8mm has 50% more kinetic energy at 100-300 yards while the 5.56mm has that same energy at point-blank ranges only. (point-blank means ranges within 3-5 yards). At ranges of 500-600 yards, it has 35% more than the 5.56mm.kinetic energy at 100-300 yards while the 5.56mm has that same energy at point-blank ranges only. (point-blank means ranges within 3-5 yards). At ranges of 500-600 yards, it has 35% more than the 5.56mm.[https://skyaboveus.com/hunting-shooting/556x45mm-vs-68x43mm/url] I NEVER believed the weight issue either. Imo, the weight saving issue with the lighter 5.56x45 mm can be solved by proper cardio! Fyi, Sig already supplies the Army handgun- imagine the money they'll make! 3 Likes

kikuyu1:That is typical hyperbole from a certain type of Saffer. The cost was estimated at ZAR20 billion for the whole province, which whilst nothing to sneeze at, pales whilst looking at the size of the provincial economy. Subsaharan: Wow! A thumbnail sketch isn't possible-having been to Kigali and Kampala many times and knowing Tutsis,Hutus,Congolese and other observers here in Nairobi the answer isn't simple. These guys have wanted a Great Lakes project since they lost power at Uhuru: a Congolese general swears this was to be the initial phase of a continental power grab in which they'd rule Africa by local proxies with themselves as overlords much like the DRC til very recently. Look at their history in Uganda-a small rebel movement, the National Resistance Movement led by M7 a Tutsi grew and grew til by massive popular support it overthrew the government. B-U-L-L-S-H-I-T!? They used false flags killing civvies dressed in Uganda army uniform. Before Obote died he insisted none of his forces were present in Luweero where at least 300k Bagandas died. 2 Baganda buddies confirmed this. The same trick ha sbeen used repeatredly in the E DRC. On Monday evening, General Sylvain Ekenge, spokesman for the military governor of North Kivu province, accused the Rwanda Defence Forces (RDF) of supporting rebel group named the M23 (for "March 23 Movement", which he said had "carried out incursions and attacked FARDC (Congolese Armed Forces) positions in Tchanzu and Runyoni, in the Rutshuru territory".https://www.africanews.com/2022/03/29/drc-army-accuses-rwanda-of-supporting-rebel-group// Since the end of the Second Congo War Rwanda has continued to face allegations of interference in DR Congo and support for Tutsi rebel groups there. Two particularly high profile episodes relate to rebellions by former Congolese Army soldiers, the CNDP under the leadership of Laurent Nkunda (2008-9), and the M23 (2012-ongoing).https://www.e-ir.info/2012/12/19/unpacking-rwandas-involvement-in-dr-congo-and-the-international-response/ Why? Minerals and natural resources. The Democratic Republic of Congo is widely considered to be the richest country in the world regarding natural resources; its untapped deposits of raw minerals are estimated to be worth in excess of U.S. $24 trillion.https://globaledge.msu.edu/countries/democratic-republic-of-the-congo/economy#:~:text=The%20Democratic%20Republic%20of%20Congo,excess%20of%20U.S.%20%2424%20trillion. All these 'rebels' allow the Tutsis to deploy their own forces to the DRC-everyone uses the same trick, the US,France in the Sahel fighting ISIS (safegarding gold and uranium reserves) etc, etc. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=V0tsQXSu7oI That's why Congolese coltan, gold, diamonds, tropical hardwood etc,etc can be easily sourced in Kigali. Jerry Fiala, an Australian geologist and miner who has worked in Rwanda since 2003, told the arbitration case he agrees with Bay View’s estimate that 90 per cent of all coltan exported from Rwanda originates in the DRC.https://www.theglobeandmail.com/business/article-how-blood-mineral-traders-in-rwanda-are-helping-fund-congo-rebels-and/ Read this book! The first by a Mainstream Westerner questioning Kagame and all his works! The true HISTORY of the RPF dating from their Uganda days. Some insights: -at least half of M7s rebels of the NRA in the 80s were Tutsi and related Banyankole -the area that suffered most, Luweero triangle in Buganda lost minimum 200k dead - one of the NRM hierarchy ACTUALLY admitted they were murdered by his own to put international pressure on Obote - Kagame may be genuinely psycho frequently publicly beating generals and senior officers gleefully warning the world of his reach after successful assassinations - DON'T pity those RPF guys he falls out with! Their hands are equally bloody and they've massacred from Uganda to Rwanda to the DRC - many of this erstwhile gang have admitted numerous times,"yes, we shot down the plane! Dunhh!" - more Hutus died in April 94 as many of the "Interahamwe" were disguised RPF - there's a long standing culture of dishonesty in Rwandese society remarked upon by everyone from Richard Burton, the first German explorer, later Belgian colonisers and observant foreigners. - Saffa NIS on ANC orders caved into Rwanda's demands after killing Patrick Karegeya. These Tutsis even threatened the prosecutor! 4 Likes

kikuyu1:Don't see that happening.... It will be a political powderkeg Anyway, Now that DRC has joined the EAC, it's likely that the East African Standby Force may see its first deployment in the near future... Both Kenya and Uganda are eyeing to be the logistical hub/route for DRCs vast mineral resources . I read something about it from this magazine , their sources hinted that the sideline meeting was about peace talks with waring factions in DRC to end the perennial wars once and for all, so that real trade can start happening https://www.theafricareport.com/194197/drc-tshisekedi-kagame-museveni-kenyatta-met-on-the-sidelines-of-the-nairobi-summit/ 1 Like |

kikuyu1: I could sense a conspiracy. I saw an article sometime about Rwanda's mining industry. it didn't take a while to figure out Paul Kagame's meddling. with a country as rich as DRC is, it would have all eyes prying. I hope the peace talks work out and usher in the stability yjos country desperately needs but that wish may be a pipe dream as external interests seems to be deeply entrenched. kabe1: Ok; but what do you think about Nigeria’s talks with The European Union regarding gas? Also are all of Nigeria’s purchases with Russia on hold now since there getting bogged down in an unexpected long drawn out war with Ukraine? Nigeria offered itself as an alternative gas supplier to Russia; of course the proper infrastructure isn’t in place to make that feasible anytime soon; but don’t you think Russia would see this as an attack on there biggest barging chip against Western Europe making Nigeria an enemy of Russia. |

Subsaharan: The whole DRC/Tutsi thing is a long, long, long story involving certain interconnected cultural idiosyncrasies of the latter about women, pathological lying, contempt for others and rampant homo behaviour being externalised onto helpless Congolese. When I get time maybe tomorrow I'll expand-its a wild 110% true story!? For now Tshisekedi beat the Tutsi candidate Martin Fayulu in 2018 to everyone's surprise. Kenyatta paid for his victory. I heard maybe 10 mn$;a modest sum.-you do know democracy costs money! I'm told that's the real reason why Macron's handlers sent him here in 2019: "find out how these niggas made our man lose!" Macron pledges closer French economic ties on first-ever visit to Kenya https://www.france24.com/en/20190313-france-kenya-macron-visit-economy-trade-kenyatta [b]Macron's visit is the first by a French leader since Kenya became independent from Britain in 1963. Naijasauce69: Nobody is an enemy to anybody, it's just business. Russia and Nigeria are members of the OPEC+ cartel. would you say Russia is Nigeria's enemy for taking our Indian market by offering their oil at a steep discount? All Nigeria's oil grades sell above brent, so if we want to compete with Russia we would have to sell at discounts too. Europe want to totally eliminate Russian sourced energy supplies, Nature abhors a vacuum, NLNG train 7 is coming up it would add 30% to Nigeria's installed gas processing capacity. We might even get lucky securing funding for the Train 8 and the Transaharan has pipeline. If we lose the Asian market to Russia, we must be able to secure more access to the European market or we'll get left behind. 6 Likes |
