The All Progressives Congress, APC, has been criticized over the cost of its nomination forms.

Deji Adeyanju, an Abuja-based activist lawyer, said the APC would encourage looting and corruption with the Presidential ticket costing N100 million.

The party had pegged its nomination forms at N100m for the president, Senate at N20 million and governorship forms at N50 million.

Adeyanju said APC flag bearers in the 2023 general elections would loot and not serve.

Chatting with DAILY POST, the activist wondered what happened to the change APC promised Nigerians in 2015.

According to Adeyanju: “APC fees for Nomination Forms are outrageous and will encourage corruption. It is unreasonable to charge, “Senate – N20M; Governorship – N50M; Presidential – N100M.

“This means everyone is going to loot and not to serve. Where’s the 2015 CHANGE that was promised.”

Same Buhari was complaining about the Presidential form sold at i think #27,000, 000 in 2015. That it was too exorbitant which led to a systematic begging for money from members of the public.

Am very, very happy Buhari finally became Nigeria's President after a number of trials. If not this Buhari would still be in the minds of so many Nigerians as the best President we never had. Am glad he was given the opportunity. Am so glad.

The costs of intent and nomination forms of APC, sickened me to my stomach. Anything that makes public officials beholden to a group of people is a purveyor of corruption.

The idea that only the rich can stand for public office is discriminatory. Shame!

It is not expected that the candidates will buy the ticket with their money but to crowdsource it.

Running a presidential campaign run into Billions and donations are needed. If people don't believe in you enough to raise ₦100 million, how will they raise the billions needed to run the proper campaign?

I know some people would say cost of governance and political campaign is expensive.



What they don't know is, that assertion would just breed more reason/excuse to loot public funds.

True.

Buhari complained bitterly about #27m nomination form in 2015. But in his care, the form is now being sold for #100m.

All the aspirants will loot before and after getting the form. Promoting corruption in the process.

This APC and Buhari only came to do one thing, loot, loot and loot. Nothing more.

ENCOURAGING is not the word but PROMOTING and EXPANDING corruption.
