The reason why you want to apply is to meet up with the earliest resumption, settle in, attend orientation, register for classes and be ready to start classes at the stipulated date. And the date you have is far from your resumption date which will affect every other thing.

I recently received a fully funded offer for a PhD. I want to apply for F2 for my wife, so we can both attend the visa interview together.

However, my assistantship offer may not cover all of her own expenses as stipulated by the school. So we want to get a proof of funds.

My question is this: is it better we use her account for the proof of funds or we should use my mom's account? What do you think, please?

Hello everyone, I just scheduled an emergency appointment with the US embassy last night. After submission, I noticed a typographical error was made.

My earliest entry date into the US is July 22 2022. I made an error in the Tentative Travel Date by putting 4/26/2022 as against 7/26/2022 which is when I hope to enter the
United States.

I have called the embassy, us visa office, sent a mail and they said my entry cannot be modified. I should wait for a response either approving or denying my request.

The emergency visa appointment can only be requested once and if denied in Abuja consulate, cannot be done in Lagos consulate. What are the chances of getting an emergency date with my error form? As it may be seen as prolly trying to play a fast one...

If an emergency appointment was rejected? What is the best solution to reverse this to be in time for studies by mid August?

If the emergency visa appointment is rejected, is it possible to pay another visa fee and be able to select another appointment? Has anyone had a peculiar case, what's the way forward?

I have an issue. The location that was chosen for my dependents (Lagos) on ds160 is different from the location that we want to interview (Abuja). I can change my ds160 on "update profile" with Abuja as interview location, but there is no way to update for dependents. Will this cause an issue during interview?

Thanks for all the heads up on EA and all. I am resuming this fall on the 15th of August and I plan to apply for EA by June 15th.
However, Lagos was the location I picked and I am now paranoid about it since I have heard a lot of people say Abuja responds to EA faster.

My questions are:
1. Can I rely on Lagos to get an EA date?
2. How can I change my location to Abuja? - at least Abuja looks easier to get EA when one applies for it.

Please let me know how changing to Abuja can be done! ��

I just gained admission for Fall 2022 and I’ll be resuming by August. Although, I do not have funding yet. So I applied for Out-of-State Tuition Waiver under Centre for Global Engagement in my school but this will cover only a part of my tuition fee.
My questions go like these:

1. What are the chances of making up for my deficit when I finally get there?
2. I'm about requesting for my I-20 and my COA shows $21,000. At what rate can I convert to naira? Again, can I get approval by using a sponsor who is not a member of my family but willing to help? If No, what idea can I use to make the sponsor claim my family name?
3. If I should pay my SEVIS fee and apply for Visa next week, can I still be given Month of May appointment date?

The community college seems to be the cause of the problem here.

Like; you’re done with university and you then want to go do another one (NCE or ND equivalent).

If you can look for another standard school, you probably would be fine then.

I recently got admitted to study MSc Construction Engineering and Management for Fall 2022 semester. My COA is 53k, no funding at the moment but I was able to secure Mpower loan of 50k and planning to use my Dad as sponsor to cover the balance of 3k. I will be applying for visa as soon as possible and I will like to have an idea of the questions I can expecting and the best way to tackle them. After scheduling for the available date of 11 April 2023 with the intention to get a closer date later. All dates i have been seeing when i try to reschedule have been further and nothing closer. Is there any trick to this or i have to wait till its 60day to resumption date to apply for EA?
