It depends, if it is a government job then it's okay. This is because, 1. Government Job gives you ample time to engage in other business (legally the only business you are authorised to do is agriculture) activities, you go to work by 9 or 10 and close by 3pm. Fridays are half days and less busy so you might not go unless you have serious task to perform. Your weekends are yours. 2. You grow in ranks and your salary increases. 3. If its a good MDA you would be open to going for trainings to improve yourself. 4. You are pensionable. 5. There's job security. As for private firm, my brother I have nothing to advice as you go work like jackky. |

Some people are very stupid in this country 50k a month is less than 2k a day With an Okada of 400k, you would earn 5000 daily on delivery service or tranport ... Jumia, Konga , GIG all need delivery guys Rent a 80k shop, get goods worth 300k and keep 20k, if you are business oriented you should make 50% profit weekly The only justification your friend has is if he has access to bribe and tips in the company where he works . 2 Likes |

If he actually saved the money out of hard work and he secured a very not hard work with that amount,I guess it is a good idea.I would rather buy work that I will be paid a reasonable amount of money monthly in Nigeria now than to invest in a business for now |

Stupidity at its peak If you start Okrika business with 400k, in 5months time, you will employ about two people that you can be paying 50k each. Second option, you can get someone that can cook, and run partnership with him or her, start from mama put, and graduate to restaurant. There are so many business you can do with 400k,and few years time, you will see yourself as big man 1 Like |
