To Preserve His Honour, Tinubu Should Stepdown Now! by NaijaCowFarm: 6:35am On Apr 22, 2022 |
In my last post on NL with link https://www.nairaland.com/7077990/why-tinubu-lose-osinbajo-apc, I numerated key reasons why Osinbajo will defeat Tinubu in the forthcoming APC primaries. Now, it is becoming apparent that most of the delegates who assured Tinubu before Osinbajo declared are already backtracking. An example is what is happening in Kano today, where Tinubu thought that Ganduje would coarse the delegates to vote for him at the primaries. As I mentioned before, the APC primaries would be an open-secret ballot, so no aspirant would know which delegate collected money and voted his/her heart. As we speak, Osinbajo is embarking on the second round of delegate cementing tours. This is planned to take him across the 774 LGAs and that is huge. When he would have done, what was thought a national spread by Tinubu followers would become a SW sectional delegates. The implication of Tinubu being defeated by Osinbajo would be demystifying and utterly disgraceful that it could lead to suicide on the part of the Jagaban Borgu and Asiwaju of Lagos. It would mean that a new sheriff is in town in the person of Osinbajo. It would be like the David and Goliath story that would forever be referred to in Nigeria's political space. This of course is no rhetoric and it is a bare-faced truth. A smart politician would tow the path of honour and magnanimously step down. This is my advice to the Asiwaju today. Of course, his followers will never agree but it is the only option left to avoid a devastating defeat that he does not deserve in his old age. Let us take a tour of politicians who had the opportunity to salvage what remained of their dying political structure but failed. Koudou Laurent Gbagbo: Laurent Gbagbo thought himself too popular based on the followership he believed he had. When Alassane Ouattara challenged him up to a run-off election on October 31, 2010, Gbagbo was only able to garner mere 38% votes. Well, he chose to fight on because his followers urged him on. Unfortunately, the end was disastrous. Mu'ammar Gaddafi: Gaddafi was demystified by his arch-enemies. All he needed to do was to take a plane and fly to either Sudan or Nairobi or even Nigeria, but what did he do, he did not because his followers urged him on. We know the sad end of the story. Samuel Doe: Samuel Doe was clearly no longer in control of the Liberian Armed forces. He had the singular option of fleeing to Sierra leone but stayed to fight to believe that his followers would hold and defeat his, opponents. He died in the process. Well, not all were foolish: Idi Amin Dada of Uganda, Robert Mugabe of Zimbabwe, Mobutu Sese Seko of Zaire, though brutal were also smart to exit what their defeats were imminent. 1 Like |

Delusional folks everywhere. Tinubu will contest the APC primary election. He doesn’t need your advice on how to keep his honor. Atiku has been contesting for president and losing since 1993. Buhari contested for president and lost three times before Tinubu rescued him. So, what’s the big deal if Tinubu lose the primary? In a contest, you either win or lose. Tinubu, Osinbajo, Amaechi and other APC aspirants must be prepared for victory and defeat. Anybody whose aspiration is based on anointing or blackmailing others out of the race is simply not serious. APC is Democratic Party and a competitive primary election is a key ingredient to its survival. 11 Likes 1 Share |

If osinbajo eventually wins, it doesn't change anything. Tinubu camp will align with osinbajo and tinubu will even become stronger. Tinubu will likely be the de facto president just like late Abba kyari 2 Likes |

ruggedtimi: That's not his ambition to become defacto president. He would probably go back to London and become a recluse. |

Before 1999, Tinubu had none of these: 1. Oriental Hotel 2. Falomo Shopping Complex 3. First Nation Airline 4. Lekki Concession Company 5. Apapa Amusement Park 6. Maiyegun Land Project 7. De Nation 8. Renaissance Hotel 9. Tejuoso Market (Joint ownership) 10. Ikeja Shopping Mall 11. TV Continental 12. Converted Lagos Poly land for TVC 13. Owned NNPC Office building in Lagos 14. Radio Continental 15. Owned School of Nursing building in Lagos 16. Tax Collector of Lagos State (Alpha Beta) 17. Wife is a member of the National Assembly 18. Son-in-law is a member of the National Assembly. 19. Daughter is the President-General of Market Women Association in Lagos. 20. N4 billion government financed property for self at Queens Drive, Lagos. Tinubu acquired all of the above and many more not listed after he became Governor of Lagos State, first in 1999 and won his second term in 2003. He remains Governor Emeritus of Lagos, controlling the State’s treasury through his protege Governors. Typical of Nigerians, you will still get some people that will defend this broad day impunity and bastardisation of public fund. #SayNoToNigeria #Referendum #EndNigeriaNowToSaveLives #NigeriaIsAScam Copied: @maryam_skits |

@OP. Stop hyperventilating. Not good for your health. Osinbajo cannot defeat Tinubu for the ticket. |

You expect Tinubu to abandon his life-long ambition? Even if he loses, he will contest under BOOT party or waut till 2027. That time his age would just 74 and he will tell Nigerians he plabs to do just one term, like Atiku is heard saying. |

So you mean he's going to loose his honor if he doesn't win? Failure is part of life so I appeal to you start living. NaijaCowFarm: |
