Nigerialabalaba:
1 Gallon of petrol for USA na average $5(N2250) which is N562.50 per litre yet for Nigeria, na $0.37 , dat na 37 cents eq. of N165.
Nigeria dey produce like 1.2 million barrels every day while US dey produce like 16.5m barrels. Oil subdidy for naija na scam so make nobody subsidize nomination forms.
OP, abeg copy dis too
But tinubu and buhari were at ojota on this subsidy matter. Yet presidential form was not 100million now you reach asorock dey find excuse to loot.

Even more-harm-made will be corrupted by this price. Even jeez-us, will not miss to collect back his money first. The combination of jeez-us and more-harm-made. Cannot salvage this country

Good analysis

But asking if our destiny is tied to either APC or PDP is senseless.

There’s need for us to be more realistic than idealistic.

A vote for any mushroom party, no matter how good their candidate is, is a vote for APC.

It is stupid to vote for a that only has office in Abuja. These parties have no structure nor agents at polling booths to protect their votes.

So, for me, our mission in 2023 should be to take out APC and then plan how to take out PDP itself if they mess up again.
You have made no point but indirectly campaigned for PDP.
Like the OP rightly said, is Nigeria's destiny tied to PDP & APC?
If your PDP likes they should put their own forms at 90mil

when you bring our your dick to wee on the streets or when you dump that rubbish inside a drainage, when you buy and sell inferior quality goods or when you jump the queue, are you a member of PDP or APC? you see, those in these political parties are a creation of our system in Nigeria. if you think members of smaller parties will make a difference, then you are on a long igbo weed.
We are saying the same thing, the problem with Nigeria is not about the political parties in power, the foundation of Nigeria itself is faulty, the Nigerian Constitution is faulty, the federation is faulty

Below is the list of what most states in USA charge for a candidate that wants to partake in primaries.

Governor: $5,000.
U.S. Senate: $5,000.
U.S. House: $2,500.
State Senate: $1,000.
State House: $500.
Judicial offices: $500.
Countywide elected offices: $100.
County Commission or Constable: $25.

Let's compare one state in USA and a country called Nigeria.

GDP of Texas 2021: 2.0 Trillion dollars
Budget of Texas 2021: 261.5 billion dollars.
Presidential aspirants in Texas pay a $5,000 filing fee.

GDP of Nigeria 2021: 446.9 billion dollars
Budget of Nigeria 2021: 23.3 billion US dollars (13.6 trillion naira)
APC presidential form: 170,940 US dollars (100 million naira)

Compare that to a poor country called Nigeria. APC decided to set the price of governorship at $85,470 (50 million naira). That is 16 times more than what is paid in USA. While that of president set at 170,940 US dollars (100 million naira) is 34 times more than what is paid in USA.

Until INEC sets a REASONABLE limit on how much political parties can charge, this ridiculous trend will continue.

Are our destinies tied to APC and PDP?
Many are complaining that these top two parties are disenfranchising young candidates with their prices. We have more younger people than old people. If only many Nigerians think like me, APC and PDP would have been abandoned for a long time. But most of the electorates love 'abusive relationship'.

If in other countries, a young person can win an election with a unpopular party, why can't it happen in Nigeria?
We are in trouble my friend

This will be a balanced unbiased piece if you include the price for the top three or five parties in Nigeria.

Yes I agree with you, a new party needs to be born by the younger generation

We Nigerian Youths are the problems. We have seen it very clearly that these Politicians are predators and we continue to encourage them so as to have a little share of our destiny from them. What is the percentage of Nigerian politicians compare to the poor masses. I guess the youths need to be led by a progressive and selfless mind.

The price of the nomination form is one thing..

Do u know how much will be spend during the primaries, state wide consultations to curry delegates and other stakeholders support?

At the end an aspirant who succeeds in picking his party ticket must have spent more than 500million naira..

Why won't corruption fester in the country....

How can you expect someone that used 50 million to buy a ticket form and another 500million + for campaign and some other undeclared funds for thugs and other lowkey activities to remember the masses when he eventually wins?

This is why the narrative has always been the same from our political grandfathers till date....

walks out of thread...

Imagine a candidate spending half a billion naira on election and campaigns lol.

Were would a common man see 500million for election?

Good leaders will almost definitely never emerge.

We are moving , moving in a circle though.

In other words, $5 is like 5 naira.

It funny how they like to compare purchasing price of goods with other country. Why can't they pay same minimum wage of $1,256.7 per month.

E sweet to compare price. sad

It is thinking like yours that makes Nigerian elections to be a contest between the APsiCks the PeeDeePigs .
There are also people whose mission is to ensure that the PDP never tastes power again, so they would rather vote for APC until they figure out how to permanently reject both the APsiCks the PeeDeePigs

That’s just ticket bro.
He will lobby delegates, emirs, Oba’s, etc.
He will travel with entourage for campaigns of which money will be given out.
Build up to election, he will continue to sort men and women.
On Election Day, that’s another massive payout.
Post election court cases requires money (SAN hire and all)
Upon victory, investors start looking out for return.

And we say we no want corruption! I laugh in Swahili
