isangjohnson: The two will most likely have. But to verify, I will have suggested you get yourself a "wattmeter" handy for you to determine power consumptions right before purchase of not just your TV when you want to purchase it, but also any other electrical gadgets for that matter. For a rough approach however, to determine if a TV has power saving feature, on the remote control, go to the menu. From the options, look for "picture settings" and select that. Then look for either "Backlight" or "power saving" in the options and select that. You then adjust it, usually comes as 1 to 100 or as percentages depending on the manufacturer. 1 is lowest while 100 is highest consumption. What that does is to effectively reduce the brightness of the LED strip (for TVs with edge lighting) or LED back lights (for TVs with their LEDs at the back). This is similar to adjusting the brightness of a LED bulb where you can have a 50w LED bulb consume progressively less power as you reduce the brightness. NB: Do not confuse "Backlight" or "Power saving" option with "Brightness" option, the trio of which are usually options under picture settings menu. Adjusting the three also give similar result of altering the brightness of the TV screen. However "brightness" option does not reduce power consumption, the former two does. This is my go to website to get quick specs verifications for TVs. https://www.displayspecifications.com/ Excuzeme: The nameplate consumption is what it consumes at full blast. I guess your TV will have power saving feature which if activated will reduce to at least 55 watts. You may even achieve less sef. 2 Likes |

FireTheSun: I'm sure @Earthrealm did not mean it the way you see it. And if not for your screenshot explaining things, I myself could have easily used the same word for you as an innocuous banter. Remember that English isn't our papa language. Ńa dem oyinbo force am on top us. uniqUN: It seems you believe all your gadgets will have surge capacity. But from the items you listed, none has surge. And @ bolded should be the other way round when loading two or more high surge gadgets on a single power source. You start with the item with the highest surge consumption, then the next highest and then others follow in that manner. Gadgets that have surges include HVAC like Air conditioners, freezers and refridgerators. Others are pumping machines and microwave ovens. uniqUN: Your charge controller was a good choice, although there are more premium ones capable of cutting a larger hole in your pocket. But for the price, PowMr does a pretty good job. In addition it will still be quite relevant in future upgrades which I am sure you will still do when your addiction to solar becomes incurable with use. As per your inverter, it is 12v and adequate for the listed gadgets. But have it in mind that it becomes irrelevant by the time you want to do an upgrade to either 24v or 48v system ecosystem. Your choice of lithium is also perfect. All the best. 1 Like |

ceaser: Whoa. This is huge knowledge for me boss. I really do appreciate your reassurance on my choice of CC and inverter, especially. I have really been skeptical about it. I see a lot of sense in first loading the highest consuming gadget now that you mentioned it. You really saw deep into my mind on that one I intend to start small and get myself acquainted with solar energy before I upgrade to a larger scale - but still, I don't want to get it wrong even for a first try. Thanks so much. I really do appreciate it. |

Good day to all the bosses in the house. I really want to appreciate the selfless contributions on this page thus far. I've gotten to a point where I need to delve into DIY solar power generation. Please I'd like to be guided with what my 700k budget can get for me for starters...I intend to go into solar fully but I want to start with this budget. Like for starters I'd be needing it to power 2 ceiling fans, charging of phones, a decoder, charging of a laptop. TVs and others can come in in subsequent upgrades. Thanks as I eargerly anticipate responses |

It is important that the load side is looped I.e. L-L, N-N, so that if grid or inverter is present ...only the active side switched to the device feeds out. aniplus:

Mykeolinks:mustpower 3kva (2400w) can only take around 1600w of panels, and is not that robust, sorotec 3kva(3000w) can take up to 5000w of panel connected in series(it is the high pv voltage type) it can work on batteryless mode,it has wifi monitoring and it is a newer model hybrid inverter. 2 Likes |
Re: Solar Energy, A Complement To FTA by FireTheSun: 7:35pm On Apr 25, 2022 |
Mykeolinks: For a Hybrid Inverter, you might want to consider this 3KVA Hybrid Product from Gennex Technologies. https://shop.gennextechnologies.com/product-category/inverters/ There is Certainty that their Products are Original, What you are buying is Original and you are not bothered or worried whether what you have is a lemon or just stuck with a "label". Their 3KVA Hybrid @#220K is a good choice, in my own opinion It can work without battery and has a factor of 1 (energy loss is almost Zero and it is a high Voltage Inverter that can take Panels to almost twice its capacity) I use their 5KVA Hybrid Inverter and am about to. even Upgrade it to 8KVA, so l can go off the Grid completely. It is very, very rugged and they are currently doing "SALES". Their Panels are Original, "Canadian Solar", expensive but the best, in the market. I have 9KW of those Canadian Solar Panels on my Roof right now. The choice of LiFePo4 Cells offered by @Valto is a a good one. You will need to buy a Daly BMS, say 8S, 100A (I am not sure if he has that in Store right now) or from China. (AliExpress) And we can all guide you on how to set it up here. Caveat: I am an End User like you so, l am speaking from the POV f a User. I dont sell anything. 3 Likes |
Re: Solar Energy, A Complement To FTA by FireTheSun: 8:05pm On Apr 25, 2022 |
uniqUN: To be honest, l am not a fan of separate Charge Controller and Inverter. I dont even consider it a cheaper option, in the long run. Some say it gives them control over their PV aspect of their setup but it is like someone choosing a Manual gear Drive over and Automatic Gear Drive in a Car! When l bought my first Automatic gear Car in year 2000, all my friends said l am "mad" as l wont have "firm control" over the Car. about three years later`, following my experience, they are all converts of Automatic gear. I think if you use a Hybrid Inverter, it is cheaper than buying them separate, it saves you money of cabling of the two separately and the hybrid has an efficient way of managing the two together and with more advanced Hybrids in the market, they have become more reliable and have large Charging Current range. But since you have bought the MPPT Controller already, l will suggest you not restrict yourself to that small Inverter, if funds will allow, buy something like 1.5KVA, Pure Sine Wave Inverter, these things get obsolete, very quickly, in terms of your requirement .in the nearest future. Sorry for the late response. 1 Like |
