MyChoice1:Is because widows are more sympathize than widower in this path of the world. Don’t forget that African is designed in such a way that wife is just a helper to her husband. The man is the breadwinner and the head over his wife, so when her husband is no more she finds it difficult to take up responsibility alone, that’s why you see some programs organized by NGO’s to assist widows not widowers. What I see with OP dad is that he is among the few men God use to help the widows and that is his calling and that’s why he can even discuss that with his family.
