The only constant story in Bruce Wayne's origin is losing his parents when he was young. Where and how he learned how to fight or how he became Batman have different storylines. There are many storylines where Raas Al Ghul didn't appear in his life until he was already a full blown vigilante. You just decided to make it canon that it was Raas who trained Batman

In the alternate reality you are talking about he already had 12 years of training before taking on Raals and still failed to beat him one on one.
