onyek82:Hi Her chances of getting an admission into a university is slim cos the minimum requirement to do a Masters in Canada is a 2.1. She should go for a PG. Cert program in a College in a program related to her field or a Program she can apply/tailor her field to. In her best interest, she shouldn't be too specific about a Province, what if the college in British Columbia don't have a PG.Cert program related to her Academic Background. To me I feel she can/should go for Journalism and this is the reason why. She should take her time and go through all contents in the link below and see why and how https://www.nairaland.com/6321900/canadian-student-visa-thread-part/670#101591686 She can do her research on colleges (DLI) in British Columbia that Offers PG.Cert in Journalism (and offers PGWP - Post Graduate Work Permit), if she sees any that's her luck on that. Await more contributions from others Good luck 1 Like |

lilangel20: The visa officer is not satisfied that you will leave Canada at the completion of your studies. The incentives of you remaining in Canada far outweighs your motivation of coming back to Nigeria. More importantly, the officer noted that you've weak travel history which doesn't count as a postive factor in his assessment. You've a very good profile that will make you a deserving candidate for a Canadian study permit. Work on your economic ties back home e.g proof of ownership of properties in your name or getting deed of gift documents showing your parents have transferred a particular land/building to you. Also capitalise on your future goals and career prospects in Nigeria and use your SOP to sell yourself wisely on how your proposed program would be of great benefit to your career and the change you will translate to your home country after studies. Pheonix12: Tuition payment is not a prerequisite for visa approval. Unless mandatory by the institution, you don't need to make any travel plans such as payment of upfront tuition fees, payment of accommodation fees in Canada and registration of courses without a visa. Bolanle18090040: Forget about NSCC, for getting study permit with this school is oftentimes difficult. Try some of the good colleges in Ontario even though they might appear expensive, but they have better prospects of getting approval. The visa officer knows that you're applying to NSCC because the school is relatively very cheap and easier to secure permanent residency after studies. This information is based on my wealth of experience dealing with diverse immigration applications. In spite of everything, the final decision is yours to make . Best of luck! Teeunz: See my responses below: 1. Tuition payment is not compulsory is not stated on your acceptance letter to do so. 2. The funds should appear in your sponsor's account/your personal account, you have to explain to the officer that the funds is available and can be utilised at any point for your tuition, living expenses and other miscellaneous expenses during the course of your studies in Canada. The above advice is applicable if you're using your parents or self-sponsorship. On the account that you're using a third party sponsorship (Uncle, aunt, or company), your guarantor will be required to pay certain amount to show commitment for your education in Canada and prove to the immigration officer that you will have full access to funds.
