Oldfashioned145: I advice undergraduate applicants their sponsors should declare a bank statement with a closing balance of 17MILLION Naira. This amount is adequate to cover up for the student's first year tuition and living expenses in Canada It will end in praise 2 Likes 1 Share |

Annettevoke: I regret to hear that your study visa was refused, how were you able to establish your ties and personal financial establishment in your last application. Did you include documents like, property documents, proof of source of income from employment/business etc. The visa officer wants to be reasonably convinced that you possess strong holdings in your home country that is possible to compel your return home after studies. From experience, this is one of the easiest refusal reason if you submit additional information/documents that will demonstrate the fact that you've true intentions of seeking a Canadian study permit. Emmasonic4me: You're absolutely right!, this is one of the mistakes most individuals make in their respective applications. I remember I have addressed this question long time ago in 2016/2017 when we had to argue it amongst ourselves on this platform, the thread was bubbling then LOL . For clarity purposes and for future readers: "If you're self-sponsored, you're expected to show proof of funds for the entire duration of your program in Canada. Only on the account are you being sponsored by someone can you declare proof of funds for the first academic year". Please ladies and gentlemen on this platform take note of this and make the most of this advice in your application. It will end in praise 14 Likes 1 Share |

These IRCC guys are just making us to waste our money when it comes to GCMS notes. They no longer update notes when you still have active application in place. I have ordered for two notes since I applied in January 4th, 2022 . One came in March 4th and nothing was inside apart from medical and biometric passed and info sharing complete. No eligibility yet. Ordered for another one on March 18 and it just arrived yesterday evening and same thing as the first one. Now making me to defer my admission to September 2022 as my school is billed to resume on the 9th of May 1 Like |

I was concerned about this too. Thanks for the clarity. What about for a 1+1 program, is it also counted as 2 yrs? I applied for a bundled 1+1 PGCs running concurrently and the LOA states study duration is going to be 2 years…does IRCC also expect that I show funds for the second PGC even though I could decide not to do it after completion of the first PGC? makano: The GCMS notes is out: Here is the comment - Taking the applicant's plan of study into account, documents submitted show some funds seem available, but there are concerns the funds would be sufficient and available for the whole course. I am not satisfied that the proposed studies would be reasonable expense weighing the factors in this application. I am no statisfied that the applicant will depart canada at the end of the period authorized for their stay. |

It's been 8 years since you finished HND. It's advisable to go with a program more in line with your most recent work experience. Although you're going for a course that relates with your last academic qualification. You have a long study gap. I believe a well detailed study plan might suffice if you choose to proceed with cyber security. But the safer option is to go for a program that complements your work experience. You'd stand a better chance if you do. OLAMINREWA: |

Jacksonmma1: 1. Use both your diploma and work experience since they are related or even the same. This shows that you are fully focused on this career path. If the course you're applying for in NBCC is advanced diploma, that's even better. Because It's easier for even a blind VO to see the Academic & Career Progression in your application. Btw, make sure you write a convincing SOP in regards to this and ensure you touch other parts of your application as well e.g. Home/economic ties, POF, etc 2. I'd advise you not to use 2 sponsors, most times, the VO sees it as being weak financially/ economically hence having to combine sponsors. So you can use anyone but ensure you use the one that best fits in after considering the available balance, landed properties, etc If your mum meets all these, I think she'd be the better sponsor. 2 Likes |
