Osun 2022 : Rep Aspirant Welcomes PDP Governorship Candidate as He Begins Campaign Rally in Iwo

The leading House of Representatives aspirant in Iwo/Ayedire /Ola-oluwa federal constituency under the platform of Peoples Democratic Party, Engr Lukman Ayodeji Bello has issued a welcoming note to the party's governorship candidate, Senator Nurudeen Ademola Adeleke as he officially kick- start his campaign rally in Iwo today.

Following several months of consultation with critical stakeholders in the state and members of the People's Democratic Party PDP, Senator Adeleke with his deputy, Hon. Kola Adewusi will stand before the crowd today at Oluwo Palace Square in Iwo, the headquarters of Osun West Senatorial District hoping to appeal to the anger of Osun people towards the current maladministration of APC government to reclaim his stolen mandate.

Ayodeji, in a statement through his media director, Mr Oladipupo Sefiu described the recognition being given to Iwoland by PDP and its candidate as one that will not be taken for granted at the poll at the July general election.

He applauded the Adeleke Campaign Committee under the leadership of Professor Wale Oladipupo for counting Iwo worthy of recognition as a place to launch the official campaign for the party.

"It is with a great pleasure that I welcome Senator Nurudeen Ademola Adeleke, our governorship candidate, his deputy, Hon. Kolawole Adewusi and the entire Imole Campaign Team under the leadership of Professor Wale Oladipupo to Iwo, choosing Iwo as a starting point of your campaign has further attested your love for our city and Iwo people will be reciprocating the gesture at the poll" He said.

Former gubernatorial aspirant, Mallam Olawale Rasheed has praised Senator Ademola Adeleke, the governorship candidate of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) as he flags off the governorship campaign at Iwo on Tuesday.



Rasheed who is also the media director for the Campaign committee of Senator Adeleke described the choice of Iwo as very strategic as it confirmed the importance attached to Iwo city as the senatorial headquarters of Osun West senatorial district.

” It is very encouraging to note the recognition being accorded Iwo land by the PDP governorship candidate, Senator Adeleke. Just few days ago he was at Iwo. Our ancient city has been neglected for long and our people are excited that the PDP candidate is following up his promise to treat Iwoland with all support and upgrade deserving of a senatorial headquarters.

” Iwo people are desirous of a genuine and all round development. They are unhappy about the current normalisation of poverty. They are yearning for a governor who will reconstruct Iwo-Osogbo road, ensure completion of Iwo-Ikire road, provide pipe born water, grant Iwo a College of Digital Economy of the Osun state University, attend to the internal road among others.

“Senator Adeleke fits that descriptiom as he has done it before. He has promised and fulfilled his promises to Iwo people as a Senator of Osun West. This explained the growing popularity of the PDP candidate in Iwoland and this is the reason the bond between Ede and Iwo is growing closer as the election draw closer”, Mr Rasheed said.


While thanking the state campaign council for recognising Iwoland, Rasheed said the July election will shock status quo forces as the outcome will return the peoples’ Senator, Ademola Adeleke as the governor.

EXTRA: Osun PDP constitutes anti-rigging committee for Adeleke


Ahead of the Osun State governorship elections, the People’s Democratic Party has constituted an anti-rigging committee, a sub-committee in the State campaign council for Senator Ademola Adeleke.



The campaign council was unveiled and inaugurated on Monday at Imole House in Osogbo.

Announcing the committee, Akogun Lere Oyewumi said the committee is tasked with responsibility of ensuring that the party is not rigged out in the July 16 election.

Senator representing Osun East senatorial district, Francis Adenigba Fadahunsi is to chair the anti-rigging committee.
